Voting:

Voting is a democratic way to express one's personal or collective opinion.

In a meeting or election, a vote is necessary to reach a decision. The voter is the one who actually casts

Elections:

Elections are a procedure used to choose the representatives of the people by soliciting and accepting
public opinion via ballot voting. Elections are a requirement for the development of democracy and are
crucial to the institutionalization of democracy.

One of the major facets of the political system is thought to be elections.

Participation:

Participation as a strategy involves teamwork: individuals working together to accomplish specific goals
more quickly and effectively, the process of participating in something.

Personal Choice:

An individual's own opinion, quality, or thing is related to that person and not to other individuals.

One's own ideology and point of view are personal choices.

Methodology:

Description of Research Area:

The present study has selected a Upazila which is called Dhamrai. Dhamrai Upazila is under Dhaka
district.  The total area of Dhamrai Upazila is 307.4 km2. It has 57,297 units of households. The Upazila
consists of one municipality, 16 unions, and 398 villages. At the 1991 Bangladesh census, Dhamrai had a
population of 312,777. Males constituted 50.37% of the population, and females constituted 49.63%. The
population of citizens 18 years and older was 163,449. Dhamrai had an average literacy rate of 29.5% (7+
years), lower than the national average of 32.4%. There are 139 Government Primary schools; 16 High
Schools; 25 Junior High Schools; 109 schools run by NGOs; 11 Madrasahs, 6 Colleges, and 1 Agriculture
College in Dhamrai Upazila.

Sources of the Data:


As part of the survey, information was gathered from primary sources. Where there was no preliminary
data. There are secondary data that has been researched to the fullest extent, including books, journals,
newspaper reports, and articles (both published and unpublished). Information was gathered from the
Dhamrai Upazila. Before being finalized, pre-field testing was conducted on both open-ended and
closed-ended questionnaires. 

Observation methods are also used in this study.

Data Collection Process:

Relevant data are collected both quantitative and qualitative methods according to goals and objectives.
All data are collected in face-to-face interview method.

Sampling: Study Design and Sample Design:

The information was gathered utilizing a multi-stage survey approach. Here, the emphasis is placed on
using a quality methodology in keeping with the goals of the study. In-depth interviews with 35
respondents were first used to gather data. In the Dhamrai upazila of the Dhaka district, the
respondents were chosen at random.

Survey Instrument and Survey:

We, a team of seven members have collected data. We have been trained greatly by our teachers
before going to this field survey.
