The indicators of the ZXDL01/02 are composed of the power indicator and alarm indicator.
The indicators are located on the upper-right corner of the lightning protection box as
shown in Figure 3-6. Table 3-6 describes the different statuses of the two indicators.
On On Alarm occurs
3-11
l When lightning current enters a power supply line, lightning protection components,
connected in parallel with the line, use transient continuity to discharge the lightning
current, and control the residual voltage within an allowed range. After the lightning
strike, the lightning protection unit recovers to normal switch status, and the equipment
power supply is not affected.
l The lightning protection unit is composed of surge arresters (B+C/B/C).
l The dry contact alarms are produced by the DB9 socket (three-jack represents the
COM end, the one-jack represents the NC end, and the five-jack represents the NO
end) fixed in the lightning protection box.

Note:
For more details about the three electrical connection modes and their installation, proceed
to the following sections.
Note:
The multi-core conductor is helpful for discharging lightning current. The multi-core
conductor is flexible and easy to install. The above data refers to the cross-sectional area
for the power supply lightning protection unit conductor. In common installation mode, the
cable connected to the power distribution or load device must match actual load current.
Confirm these requirements in all cases.

the current rating of the ZXDL01/02. Figure 5-3 and Figure 5-4 illustrates the three-phase
and single-phase connection in common parallel mode.
Caution!
l AC input cables of the protected equipment (power system/load) must be less than 1
m.
l Phase, neutral (N), and protection ground (PE) wires of the lightning protection box
must be less than 0.5 m.
5-4
Steps
1. Turn off the AC input breaker of the installation site.
2. Turn off the arrester breakers.
3. Connect the ground cable between the PE busbar of ZXDL01/02 and the protection
ground busbar of the installation site.
4. Connect the neutral cable to the neutral busbar of ZXDL01/02.
– End of Steps –
5-5
Caution!

6.2 Troubleshooting
6.2.1 How to Troubleshoot when the Power(HL0) Indicator is OFF
and the Alarm(HL1) Indicator is OFF
Context
When both the power and alarm indicators are OFF, it indicates that the ZXDL01/02 is
not operating or there may be a problem with the input cables or the power indicator.
Troubleshoot the lightning protection unit by following the steps below.
Steps
1. Check whether the AC input is normal.
a. If yes, proceed to step 2.
b. If no, the fault originates from the AC input. There is no need to troubleshoot the
lightning protection box.
2. Check whether the power indicator (LED) is damaged/faulty.
6-1
3. Check whether the output of the connection terminal is normal. If there is no output at
the terminal, contact the supplier.
– End of Steps –
Steps
1. Check whether the AC input phase wires are disconnected or in poor contact.
2. Check whether the AC input breaker powering the unit is OFF.
3. Check whether any arrester is damaged.
If the window of an arrester turns RED, it indicates that the arrester is damaged.
replace the arrester.
4. In case the AC input is in normal state and the switches trip once they are turned on,
contact your local ZTE representative.
– End of Steps –
