● Why are governments around the world starting to invest in tourism infrastructure?
What does this mean for the competitive environment for the Philippine’s tourism
product?
- The government around the world starts to invest in tourism infrastructure
because it will give their tourism a big potential to help the economy grow.
Investing and building different infrastructure will aim to attract new and
retaining tourist or customers which is a good thing both for the tourism and the
country. It will also help the tourism to expand and be recognize not just the
people inside the country but also worldwide. It can help the locals to gain money
to their business. Investing in tourism infrastructure in the Philippines means the
business will more likely to get competitive and will up to their game in order to
sell their own. But this also have a negative side like it will affect the locals or
people who lives near the said tourist infrastructure. It will also affect the budget
of the government, it will make the pay more expensive.

● How do we compare to the United States as a destination for travel?

- United states is much more far than here in the Philippines. First, the budget since
it is truly much more expensive in the United States compare to other countries.
In many people's mind if you have been in the US you are rich or you have a good
life. It is much more crowded, polluted and expensive. But it is said that being in
United states you can do many things which you cannot do in many country,
because the laws are very much modernized and people have the freedom to do
things. Before coming to the United states you have to apply for the visa which
you will submit different files and bank statements inorder for you to be
approved, here in the Philippines it is much more easy to come, no necessary
document or file. The government of the United states have much more budget so
they likely have more budget to their tourism department. United states also is a
very big place which have different tourist spot which everyone can visit. It is
also said that in United states there are a lot of opportunities which you can get
while traveling, like being scouted by a modeling company.

● What is the relationship between tourism and people’s understanding of a country’s

image?
- It affects their beliefs, morals, sense of humor, aspirations, allegiances, concerns,
and anxieties. Therefore, having some perspective and understanding of other
cultures is helpful when working with individuals and developing relationships
with them. The tourism sector contributes significantly to economic growth in
addition to offering appealing travel locations. Thus, the travel and hospitality
industries support economic growth and development by boosting foreign
exchange acquisition, creating jobs, encouraging infrastructure development, and
more. Accessible tourism enables all people to partake in and enjoy travel-related
experiences. More people require access, regardless of whether they have a
physical issue. For instance, elderly and less mobile people with access needs can
provide a significant challenge when visiting.

● Why do we need to rehabilitate cultural and historical sites?

- The process of restoring the land in a specific area to a portion of its prior state
after some process (industrial, natural disasters, etc.) has caused its destruction is
known as land rehabilitation and is a component of environmental remediation.
Restoration of historical and heritage structures is a task that frequently gets
neglected. These days, there are so many of these structures that require
renovation. For obvious reasons, it is essential to preserve our cultures, history,
and heritage. By rehabilitation we can preserve these historical site to be what it is
since the start. The future generation can see and also obtain the stories,
knowledge and the main reason why that place is part of our history.
