The ONT status falls into three types: ONT running status, ONT configuration status and ONT
matching status.
The ONT running status refers to the ONT service condition. It indicates whether the
ONT is online and whether the ONT carries the service.
If the ONT running status is DOWN, the ONT does not support the ONT
version query, ONT FE statistics query or GEM port statistics query. The
ONT cannot carry service either.
If the ONT running status is UP, the ONT is online and the three yellow LEDs
on the ONT are on. In this case, whether the service can be forwarded is
decided by the ONT configuration status.
The ONT configuration status indicates whether the configuration restoration is
enabled and whether the configuration restoration is complete. The ONT configuration
status has these states: initial state (initial), normal state (normal), no configuration
restoration (no resume), configuring (config) and configuration failure (failed).
When the actual ONT capability is the same as the configuration of the capability set
profile, the ONT is in the configuration restoration stage.
The first status is "initial". Soon the "initial" ends and the ONT enters the "config" state.
The "config" stage mainly restores the ONT capability data and configuration data.
The duration of the "config" state is decided by the data volume configured on the
ONT.
If the configuration restoration succeeds, the ONT transits from the "config"
1.When the ONU fails to register, check whether the following alarms are generated:
0x2e314021 There are illegal incursionary rogue ONTs under the port
0x2e314022 The ONT is rogue ONT
0x2e11a00b The dying-gasp of ONTi (DGi) is generated
0x2e112007 The distribute fiber is broken or OLT can not receive expected optical
signals from GPON ONT(LOSi)
0x2e11a001 The feed fiber is broken or OLT can not receive any expected optical
signals(LOS)
0x2e21a102 The GPON ONT configuration recovery fails
2.Check whether the ONU is configured.
3.In the GPON mode of the OLT, run the display ont info command to query the ONU status.
If the Control flag of the ONU is deactivated, run the ont activate command to activate
the ONU
4.Run the display ont capability command to query the actual capability of the ONU. Bind
the capability set profile matching the ONU capability according to the data plan or modify the
ONU capability set profile
5.Check whether 0x2e305015 The authentication information of the ONTs conflicts is
generated on the OLT。
6.Check whether there are a lot of ONUs are connected to a splitter.
7.Run the display port info command to query the maximum registered distance of the ONU
connected to a GPON port.
If the actual distance from the OLT to the ONU is beyond the maximum registered
distance preset on the OLT, run the port range command to adjust the maximum
distance. This makes the actual distance shorter than the maximum registered
distance.
OLT:
1. The ONU auto-find function is disabled on the PON port.
□ Run the port ont-auto-find command to enable the auto-find function of the PON port.
2. The actual distance between the ONU and OLT exceeds the ranging compensation distance
configured on the OLT.
□Run the port range command to adjust the minimum logical reach and maximum logical
reach so that the actual distance between the ONU and OLT is within the ranging
compensation distance.
3. The laser on the PON port is disabled.
□ Replace the optical transceiver of the PON port or replace the board.
4. The board is faulty.
□Replace the board.
ODN:
1. The optical fiber connector is not clean.
□ Clean the optical fiber connector.
2. The optical fiber is bent excessively.
□ Route and bundle the optical fiber in a proper manner.
3. The optical fiber is not firmly connected or different types of optical fiber connectors are
interconnected.
□ If the optical fiber is not firmly connected, reconnect the optical fiber firmly.
□ If different types of optical fiber connectors are interconnected, replace the incompatible
connector with a compatible one or replace
relevant devices, such as the optical splitter.
4. The multi-mode optical fiber is used as the backbone or branch optical fiber.
□ Replace the multi-mode optical fiber with the single-mode optical fiber.
OLT:
1. The PON port is faulty.
□ Replace the optical transceiver of the PON port or replace the board.
2. The board is faulty.
□ Replace the board.
ODN:
1. The optical fiber connector is not clean.
□ Clean the optical fiber connector.
2. The optical fiber is bent excessively.
□ Route and bundle the optical fiber in a proper manner.
3. The optical fiber is not firmly connected or different types of optical fiber connectors
are interconnected.
□ If the optical fiber is not firmly connected, reconnect the optical fiber firmly.
□ If different types of optical fiber connectors are interconnected, replace the
incompatible connector with a compatible one or replace relevant devices, such as the
optical splitter.
4. The multi-mode optical fiber is used as the backbone or branch optical fiber.
□ Replace the multi-mode optical fiber with the single-mode optical fiber.
5. The optical splitter is faulty or the connectors on the optical splitter are not clean.
□ Replace the faulty optical splitter or clean the connectors on the optical splitter.
6. The ODN is not properly planned.
□ Optimize the ODN to meet Huawei's ODN planning requirements and protocol
requirements.
ONU:
1. A rogue ONU (such as a continuous-mode ONU) exists on the network and affects
other ONUs.
□ Replace the rogue ONU with a normal one.
2.The ONU is restarted repeatedly.
□ Replace the ONU or ensure that the power supply of the ONU is normal.
