After watching the video, please answer the following questions:

1. What are the main points of her message?
- Ms. Earth 2017 Karen Basco's main message is about what we can do to help respond to climate
change. Basco cited three examples to demonstrate that this global issue has occurred: the earth is
warming faster than its average temperature, sea levels are rising, and the ice peak is melting. With this,
everyone must take action, no matter how small. She suggested the following:
A.) Conserve energy.
B.) Reduce food waste.
C.) Diversify your diet (lessen the meat and eat more vegetable)
D.) Conserve water.
E.) Refuse those plastics

2. In your own perspective, is it possible for you to attain environmental justice in the
Philippines? Why or why not?
- People in the Philippines can change their minds about using plastics because our
country is one of the world's top plastic polluters. The real problem, as Ms. Basco stated in
her winning response, is not climate change, but the people who live on this planet. All we
need to do is begin changing our ways and rerouting our steps, because as a global
community, our micro efforts will have a macro effect in saving our planet.

3. Recommend ways or platforms where we can bring our advocacy/ies on climate and
environmental justice.
• Start with yourself.
• Do it first before sharing it with others.
• Gather your audience.
• Target those whose actions unintentionally cause climate change.
• Speak up and advocate for yourself.
• Practice the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle).
• Plant more trees campaign.
• Promote solar and wind panel energy.
• Volunteer for non-governmental organizations.
