News Clippings of People’s Journal and Manila Standard on the Ambush of the Vice Mayor of Aparri, Cagayan that transpired in Nueva Vizcaya on February 18, 2023. 2. This pertains to the incident that transpired in Nueva Vizcaya, wherein the Vice Mayor of Aparri, Cagayan was stopped by gunmen who allegedly disguised themselves as government forces by wearing camouflage uniforms. The said incident once more undermined our efforts to improve the trust and confidence of the public to the police. Hence, the CPNP directed the intensification of the campaign against the unauthorized use of PNP uniforms as well as the campaign against the manufacture, sale, and distribution of counterfeit and sub-standard uniforms, insignias, and accoutrements. 3. In this regard, you are advised to intensify the conduct of the activities indicated in PNP MC No. 2017-058 by directing the respective Heads of offices/units to undertake, among others, the following activities a. Conduct of cyber patrolling on e-commerce companies selling PNP uniforms, insignias, and accoutrements and to submit to this Directorate, the URLs of the online sellers for possible take-down/removal; b. Conduct visitation and inspection of all stores/business enterprises manufacturing, selling and/or distributing PNP uniforms, insignias, and accoutrements in your respective AORs pursuant to the provisions of EO 297 and other related laws; “Life is Beautitul...Keligtasan Nyo, Sagot Ko.
