Figure Based
Direction for questions 1-4: Based on the figure given below, the relationship of the terms of the
right of:: is same as that on the left. Find the missing terms.
Q1.
GHF: CDB:: EFD:?
1. ABJ
2. IJH
3. CBD
4. AJB
Solution:
In the first pair, the line CD in the second term extends to point G of the first term. Similarly, the line
either IH or AB extends to point E of the first term in the second pair. Hence option 1
is the answer.
Q2.
Solution:
All set of vertices are in relation to P, the central point in the diagram. In the 1st pair: The second term
is a triangle formed with the lines passing through P and the points adjacent to N and H on either side
of triangle PNH, that is, FA and ID. Hence the 2nd term in the 1st term is PDA. Similarly, point
adjacent to D is M (on MJ), and that to L is B(on BG), the required triangle will be PGJ or PJG.
Q3.
AKJO: IOHN: :? : CLBK
1. LDME
2. EMGH
3. EMDL
4. CLDM
Solution:
I is anti-clockwise next to vertex A. O is analogous to K. H is anti-clockwise to O analogous to J
being so to K. O is anti-clockwise to J analogous to N being so to H. Similarly, C is anti-clockwise
next to vertex E. L is analogous to M. B is anti-clockwise to L analogous to D being so to M. K is
anti-clockwise to B analogous to L being so to D.

Syllogism
Q4.
Choose the conclusion which logically follow from the given statement irrespective of commonly
known facts.
Statement:
I. All branches are leaves as well as flowers.
II. All leaves are flowers but not branches.
Conclusion:
I. All branches are leaves
II. All leaves are branches
III. All flowers are branches
IV. Some leaves are branches
1. None follows
2. Only I and IV follow
3. Only II and III follow
4. All follow
Solution:
From the venn diagram, we can see that only conclusions I and IV follow. Hence, option 2 is the
correct answer.

Q5
Find the minimum number of straight lines required to make the given figure.
A. 16
B. 17
C. 18
D. 19
Solution:
The vertical lines are AD, EH, JM, FG, and BC i.e., 5 in number.
The slanting lines are IE, JE, JF, KF, DE, DH, FC, and GC i.e., 8 is number.
Thus, there are 4 + 5 + 8 = 17 straight lines in the figure. Hence, minimum number of straight lines
required to form a figure is 17.

Q6.
Find the number of triangles in the given figure.
A. 22
B. 24
C. 26
D. 28
Solution:
The simplest triangles are AGH, GFO, LFO, DJK, EKP, PEL and IMN i.e., 7 in number.
The triangles having two components each are GFL, KEL, AMO, NDP, BHN, CMJ, NEJ and HFM
i.e., 8 in number.
The triangles having three components each are IOE, IFP, BIF and CEI i.e., 4 in number.
The triangles having four components each are ANE and DMF i.e., 2 in number.
The triangles having five components each are FCK, BGE and ADL i.e., 3 in number.
The triangles having six components each are BPF, COE, DHF and AJE i.e., 4 in number.
Q7
Input: 56 68 94 86 48 76
What is the sum of the first and last numbers of the final step of the arrangement?
A. 63
B. 65
C. 71
D. 56
Solution:
The logic applied for the input:
84 28 36 64 42 74
Step I - Step V: All the numbers are arranged in ascending order from the left end, one in each step.
84 28 36 64 42 74 - here 28 is the smallest number and therefore, it is placed at the left end in
step l. 84 will move towards the right by one place Step I: 28 84 36 64 42 74
Similarly, 36 will be placed after 28 in step II and 84 will move towards the right again.
step II: 28 36 84 64 42 74.
This process is continued until all the numbers are arranged in ascending order.
Step VI: All numbers are divided by 2.
28÷2 =14, 36÷2=18 and so on
Similarly, applying the same logic in the given question input:
Input: 56 68 94 86 48 76 and the final output is 24 28 34 38 43 47 Hence, the answer is option C.
Jack is 4th to right of Sunil, so he must have 3 people between him and Sunil. Since there are 15
people between Sunil and Ram, we can say that there will be 15-4 = 11 people between Jack and
Ram.
Jack is 11th from left and he also has Sunil to his left. Jack will have 10 people to his left and Sunil is
4th to his left, this must mean that Sunil will have 10 - 4 = 6 people to his left.
Hence, we can say that there is 6+ 1 +3+1 +11 +1 + 17 = 40 people in the row.

Q10.
If RASCAL is written as -22, then SIMPLE is written as
A. -14
B. -8
C. 10
D. 16
Solution:
If we consider the numerical value corresponding the Alphabets
R=18
A=1
S=19
C=3
A=1
L=12
-18+1-19+3-1 +12= -22
Hence, we must subtract and add alternate alphabets
S= 19
I=9
M=13
P=16
L=12
E=5
-19+9-13+16 -12+5=-14

Direction-Sense
Q11.
A girl leaves her home and walks 30 mt towards north. She turns clockwise by 450 and walks 30
meters. Then she turns anti-clockwise by 450 and walks 30 meters, then she turns by 900 towards her
left and walks 60 meters. There she turns towards her home. In which direction is she walking?
1. South
2. South-East
3. North-East
4. North-West
Solution:
Let us assume H to be home. She walks 30 meters towards north (A) H will be South of A Now from
A she walks towards B which is north east of A. Hence H will be towards South - west of B Now she
will walk towards D which to her left/ east, she walks 60 meters so she will be to the left of H Hence
now H will be towards south east of D.

Assertion and Reason
Q12.
Given below are two statements: one is labelled as Assertion A and the other is labelled as Reason R
Assertion A: Celebrity endorsements add to the brand value and sale of the products.
Reason R: Most celebrities are rich enough to afford the best technology and products in any given
category.
In the light of the above statements, choose the most appropriate answer from the options given
below:
1. Both A and R are correct and R is the correct explanation of A.
2. Both A and R are correct and R is NOT the correct explanation of A.
3. A is correct but R is incorrect
4. A is incorrect but R is correct.
Solution:
Assertion A
Celebrity endorsement is a form of advertising campaign or marketing strategy which uses celebrity's
fame or social status to promote a product, brand, or service, or to raise awareness about an issue.
Marketers use celebrity endorsers in hopes that the positive image of the celebrity endorser will be
passed on to the product's or brand's image.
Thus, this is a correct Assertion.
Reason R
Most celebrities are highly famous and rich people. This fame and money enable them to enjoy
various luxuries of life. Thus, this is a correct statement.
Although R is a correct statement, it cannot be the correct reason for the given assertion as brands ask
celebrities to endorse their products because of the influence that celebrities have over the people and
not because of their lifestyle.

Statement and Argument
Q13.
The following question consists of a statement and arguments I and II. Choose the best option.
Statement: Should smoking be prohibited?
Argument I: Yes, it is wrong to smoke away millions of money.
Argument II: No, it will throw thousands of workers in the tobacco industry out of employment.
Argument II: Smoking is a billion-dollar industry and lot of people are employed in this industry.
Surely, banning smoking will have an adverse effect on all those people who are employed in the
industry, hence this can be considered as a strong argument.
Hence, Option 2 is the right answer.
