Shot Testimony

I am Thet Khaing Oo. I came to the faith from a Buddhist background. My Dad is
Rakhine and a strong Buddhism. My mom is a Kachin and she was a namesake Christian. I
was confused between these two religions till my 14. But I strongly believed in human-centre
-minded that I could save my soul by doing all rituals of religions. But it made me more
insecure. By the grace of God, I started hearing the word of God through one of the ministers
of Gospel Baptist Church. In 2000, I attended the summer salvation crusade done by Gospel
Baptist Church Kut Kai, I was still in confused but in 2002, I attend the summer salvation
crusade again. In that crusade, I accepted Christ as my personal savior and Lord.
After my 10 passes, I would like to go and study the Bible College but my dad didn’t
allow me to go. According to my mark on matriculated examination, I got the privilege to
study electrical communication engineer at Government Technological College in Lashio. I
got Diploma and I continued my B.Sc (Physics). After the finish of my B.Sc, God called me
to serve. I recognized His calling though it was a great shock to me and doubt His calling. I
had been trained for two years by Gospel Baptist Church of Lashio Association’s minister
training and served as Evangelist and Pastor.
By His grace, God gave me the privilege to come and study theological education in
India. By His faithfulness, I have completed my Master of Theology in Bible Exposition. I
feel confident and qualified to take on the challenges that teaching offers. I am eager to
demonstrate my talent and teaching skills within a seminary that is committed to high
standard in the theological education of seminary students. And I seek a position to teach in
Bible College to get experience and to develop my theological knowledge that may help for
my future ministry. Our Gospel Baptist Church of Lashio Association has a plan to start Bible
College to develop discipleship ministry. So, this experience of teaching will really help my
association for the future ministry and me.
