Briefly share how you came to known Jesus as your Savior and your call to the ministry.
As a pastor’s kid and a Sunday school goer I always assume that once I die, I will surely
go to heaven. One time in our camp, during consecration night, I decided to go in front because
everyone is doing it. From that night I claim that I have the assurance of Salvation. I followed the
prayer and I am a little bit emotional. I thought for a long time that I am already saved. In my
mind, thinking that I have the assurance, it gives me the idea of doing whatever I want, “after all I
am already saved”. But by the grace of God, I understand that it is not the prayer and the
emotions but our faith in God. Because there is no change in my life towards holiness, I began to
ask myself and the Lord is gracious enough for letting me through His Word understand the true
salvation.
2012 when I first enter BBSI. There’s no passion or anything. I know I am there just in obedience
to my parents. The next year, I transfer to Palawan State University taking Electrical Engineering.
I feel that I am financially secured soon since I grew up struggling in finances because both of
my parents are working in a small community church. But once I get more involved in church’s
ministries here at Grace Baptist Church, I know the path that I am taking is different from the
path that the Lord has for me. I struggled with myself because I am about to finish my degree. A
lot of sleepless night asking for God’s direction.
Now, for almost 10 years in college, I have no regrets in following God’s calling. I know there is
no huge financial security ahead waiting for me, but there is no greater reward for me to be a
fulltime servant of God.
I took Christian Education since I can credit more subjects from my previous course so that I
don’t need to stay longer in college because my parents are now retiring not from the ministry
but from the financial support from the church. I am also taking all pastoral subjects because it
is my desire to be equipped well for Church’s ministries.
