ASSIGNMENT NO 01
Name: Muhammad Bilal Malik
ID : bc230206917

Question No 01:
By using mathematical induction, Prove that the , 2+ 4+6+ …+2 n=n ( n+ 1 ) is
true, for all positive integers.

Solution :-
+¿ ¿
Let, P ( n )=2+ 4+6 +⋯+ 2n=n ( n+1 ) where , n∈ Z
Basic Step:
Let n=1 ,
2=1(1+1)
2=2
Inductive Step:
Assume that p(k) is also true , so
2+4+6+…+2k=k(k+1) ……….. (i)
If p(k) is true then p(k+1) is also true,
2+4+6+…+2k+2(k+1)=(k+1)(k+1+1)
2+4+6+…+2k+2(k+1)=(k+1)(k+2) ……….. (ii)
By substituting eq.(i) in eq.(ii),
K(k+1)+2k+2=(k+1)(k+2)
k(k+1)+2k+2=(k+1)(k+2)
k²+k+2k+2=k²+2k+k+2
k²+3k+2=k²+3k+2
Hence, proved

−3 x ≥ (−11 ) ( 4 )
−3 x ≥−44
Dividing both sides by−3 , we get
−3 x −44
