Product Data Sheet

CRAYBOND 3022
Product Description:
Craybond 3022 is part of the Solfre range of polyurethane adhesives meeting the exacting industrial standards in a new climate of
environmental awareness. The extensive number of products within the Solfre range have been designed utilising Chemique’s
knowledge of application techniques offering customers the total package of adhesive technology

Appication
In today’s industry the strong demands of product quality and performance are coupled with the need for versatility. Craybond 3022 offers excep-
tional levels of adhesion to a wide variety of substrates. The ‘open time’ Craybond 3022 exhibits enables laminates to be positioned accurately while
the adhesive is still wet so ensuring full adhesive transfer to the substrate giving a total permanent bond once fully cured. These properties coupled
with the advantages associated with beading polyurethane adhesives from Chemique offers the panel industry a new and exciting solution to
environmental and capacity problems

Application Data
Packaging Storage Temperature

1150 Kg intermediate bulk containers Between 10°C and 25°C. Lower temperatures can

235 kg, 28 kg or 6 kg drums cause permanent damage to the product.

Application Temperature Storage Life

Between 10°C and 30°C 6 Months in unopened containers

Coverage
Between 3 and 12 m²/kg depending on the porosity and uniformity of the substrates being bonded. Only one substrate requires coating with
Craybond 3022

Substrate Preparation
All surfaces should be free of contamination by dust, grease, oils or release agents. Substrates should be checked for contamination by mould
release or cutting agents. Metals should be degreased prior to bonding. Cleaning solutions, if used, must be allowed to evaporate before application
of the adhesive. Some metals (untreated aluminium and galvanised steel) may require priming to achieve a satisfactory permanent bond.

Application
Focus Industries have developed a complete system for accurately and reliably spraying the Solfre range of adhesives. Alternatively we have the
experience and technology to adapt existing conventional equipment to apply such products as the customer requires.

PRODUCT DATA SHEET

Bonding Range and Pressure

Craybond 3022 should be used as it is supplied; it cures by reaction with moisture from the atmosphere or from the substrates being bonded. To obtain 100%
relative humidity it is recommended to spray 7–10% water onto the adhesive. All panels or composites should be held together throughout the curing process.
This is best accomplished in a press with up to 10 p.s.i. pressure, however this will depend upon the strength of the substrates and the core materials used.

Cleaning Solvent
Axil 703 or Axil 704 on uncured material

Dilution Solvent
Solfre 3022 is supplied ready for use.
