Customer Advisory Regarding Isilon OneFS 8.1.x and 8.2.x EOSS

This Customer Advisory is to inform you that Isilon clusters running OneFS 8.1.x or 8.2.x are at or
near their End of Standard Support (EOSS) date and Dell Technologies highly recommends
upgrading to PowerScale OneFS 9.2.1 or newer as soon as possible. OneFS 8.1.x reached EOSS on
July 1st, 2021 and 8.2.x will reach EOSS on May 31st, 2022. Dell Technologies also recommends
that you include the latest Node Firmware Package (NFP) and Drive Support Packages (DSP) as part
of the recommended upgrade to ensure the highest levels of performance.

Additionally, Dell Technologies recommends upgrading to PowerScale OneFS 9.2.1 or newer to take
advantage of product enhancements including:
 Improved OneFS upgrade experience
 Support for cluster configuration export
 Improvements to storage efficiency reporting
 Remote Direct Memory Access support for Network File System (NFS)
 External key management for self-encrypted drives (SEDs)
 Compliance with IPv6/USGv6
 Support for PowerScale Archive & Hybrid nodes (A300/A3000/H700/H7000) with in-line
dedupe and compression
 PowerScale F900 support

Dell Technologies highly recommends that you perform the suggested upgrade to PowerScale
OneFS 9.2.1 or newer as soon as possible.

Recommendation and Further Assistance

If you decide to take no action at this time, please be advised that this product may encounter issues
that are fixed in the newer code. For OneFS related issues on EOSS code the final resolution may
require an upgrade to a more recent version as the sole remedy. Dell Technologies Services will
request that the customer agree to receive a fix to a software issue on a version that is more recent
than the version where they encountered the issue. As always, we continue to stand behind the
