“STRIVE TO KNOW THE TRUTH”

- We as a Filipino Citizen do a lot of efforts and actions just to achieve our

goals in life and this is what like Buddha did. For them the path of happiness
starts from understanding of the root cause of suffering. We have to strive if
we really want to know the truth. We may encounter a lot of challenges along
the way but one thing that we must instill in our mind is not to give up.
Everything comes in the hardest way and all we have to do is to trust the
process. We may struggle and suffer up until we succeed of what we are keep
on striving the truth. The truth that will set us free. The truth that leads to
happiness. The truth that will bring contentment to our daily life.

“RESPECT LIFE, MORALITY and PROPERTY”

- As I read the text titled “Respect for Life Principle- it says there that all living
things have a moral status and on account of that should not be killed or
harmed without good reason. Respect begets respect. If you want to be
respected you must also know how to respect to someone else. We must
respect not only to people we knew, not only to the people ahead of us, not
only to the people closed to us but all of the things lived in this world must be
respected. The property- the things belongs to you are your property. You
show respect for your property by taking care of it. You should also respect
other property as how you respected your own, be careful not to break and
lose it. Being respectful towards others is one part of the puzzle. It’s also
important to have respect to yourself.

“SAY NOTHING TO HURT OTHERS”

- Words are powerful as it can be misunderstood by someone and may cause

to hurt their feelings. Buddha also knew the tremendous power of words.
Words and ideas that they represent can change minds and lives. Sometimes
we may out of control and we can utter words that has a big impact towards
people we talk with. Sometimes, because of our anger or even in our happiest
moment we cannot mind that the words that comes out to our mouth has a big
meaning and realization towards others. Sometimes, the words that we utter
might affect our relationship to someone. This is how words powerful. Thus,
we as a living thing here on earth must have these principles in life just like
what Buddha advice to refrain hurting others; first thing is don’t lie, don’t
gossip, be polite and courteous to others when we speak and talk only if
necessary. In this way, consideration and kindness to others brings happiness
not just to everyone surrounds us but also to ourselves. I have this line that I
always bear in my mind that say’s “A wise man speaks because they have
something to say but a foolish man speaks because they have to say
something”. Hoping that we speak because we have something to say
something that not hurt others.
