Probably the most well-known businessman in the world is William Henry Gates, better
known as Bill to his friends and to the majority of us. Bill Gates was born in Seattle to a
mother who was significant in a prominent financial family and a father who served as the
primary legal advisor there. Along similar lines, young Bill was comfortable with his social
standing, and the family had plenty of money. Despite this, there is evidence that Bill was
motivated by a love of creativity. He was fascinated with computers and programming as a
child. He even succeeded in convincing his teachers to let him abandon arithmetic. At the
age of 14, Bill and his friend from school, Paul Allen, who would later find Microsoft,
converted an Intel CPU into a traffic counter and made $20,000 for each of them. Six years
later, in 1975, Paul persuaded Bill to leave Harvard and travel across the country to New
Mexico in order to create a BASIC programming language intermediary for the brand-new
Altai microcomputer. However, it is clear that the opportunity that led to the creation of
Microsoft was driven less by a desire to defeat rivals and more by a passion for exploring
uncharted waters and making innovative strides in unrelated fields.

Achievements

However, within ten years Microsoft began to take its own chances and was well on its way
to becoming the $50 billion, 80,000 employee, global, dominant force that it is today in
terms of registration. The big opportunity came in 1981 when IBM asked Microsoft to
develop the operating systems for its new PCs. Microsoft paid $50,000 for the rights to a
current event and modified it for PC-DOS in order to meet the IBM deadline. The Microsoft
scenario was included into every IBM PC sold at this time since Microsoft controlled the
rights to provide to various clients. As copies of the IBM PC began to proliferate on the
market, they were primarily using the Microsoft plate working foundation as well (MS-DOS).
As the money flowed in, Microsoft increased its R&D efforts in an effort to soon begin to
drive rather than follow market advancements. As a result, Bill transformed from an eager
specialist and an old-school opportunity spotting entrepreneur into a wholly modern
entrepreneur who enjoys creating new opportunities. Right now, Bill is undeniably happy to
be the winner.

Success and failure story

Young businesspeople should carefully analyse the situation before choosing a course of
action. He said that success is found in the unknown, thus businesspeople should constantly
be willing to explore the unknown. Even when no one gave any care to the programme,
Microsoft became particularly popular due to his conviction and affinity for taking risks. "On
the off chance that you want to win big, you occasionally have to overcome massive
obstacles." The words of Bill Gates serve as a tremendous source of inspiration for
businesspeople. Before Microsoft was founded, Bill Gates and Paul Allen founded Traf-O-
Data, an enterprise tasked with reviewing traffic data. Sadly, it completely failed, leaving
Gates with a mountain of debt. From this setback, he learned valuable lessons and
continued to remove Microsoft. He did experience some initial disappointment, even with
Microsoft, but his daring nature inspired him to press on. Finally, success knocked on his
door, and he received the reward for continuing to pursue his fantasies.

Contribution to the economy

Indicators used by the UN to monitor progress toward the goals show that the globe has
lagged behind in many cases, according to the 2020 Goalkeepers Reports from the Bill &
Melinda Gates Foundation. This includes universal access to healthcare, immunizations, and
a decrease in the number of new cases of malaria. For more than ten years, Bill Gates has
prioritised the research and distribution of vaccines. He has invested more than $1 billion in
the development of a malaria vaccine, and he is currently collaborating with pharmaceutical
firms to finance the creation of a COVID-19 vaccine. Additionally, he assists in matching
vaccine producers with distributors who can assist in getting a vaccine to underdeveloped
nations. Additionally, Gates urged the country to back President-elect Barack Obama as he
fulfils his campaign promise to double international aid to $50 billion by 2012, particularly in
light of the current world financial crisis.

According to Gates, "It will make an incredible statement about the kind of partner America
plans to be in the world." Of all, improving America's standing abroad is merely a result; it is
not the main goal. The goal is to make life better.

Investments in development and health have been shown to be effective. According to

Gates, major federal and international initiatives are significantly extending life expectancy,
lowering child mortality, and assisting people in escaping hunger and poverty.

Impact of Covid-19 on Apple

When news of COVID-19 spread in late January and infection numbers began to rise,
Apple shut down all retail stores, corporate offices, and contact centres in China for two or
more weeks. Many of the businesses began to reopen in the latter part of February,
however other store locations continued to be closed into March while others that had
reopened in February were only open part-time. China has all of its stores reopen as of
March 13. Apple's sales in China have suffered dramatically as a result of store closures,
shortened hours, government-imposed travel restrictions, quarantines, and public fear of
getting the coronavirus in public places. Apple decided to shut down all of its retail locations
in the United States and other nations on March 14 after closing its stores in China, which
also affected sales.

Apple began restoring stores in May, starting with its lone outlet in South Korea, which
reopened on April 18 with constrained hours of operation. More than 300 Apple Stores
across the world have reopened with safety precautions like required masks, crowd control,
social seclusion, temperature checks, and more. However, several stores started closing in
the US and other countries in June due to COVID-19 surges. Apple's factories were up and
running by mid to late February for the most part, but travel restrictions from heavily
impacted areas in China, mandatory quarantines, and low labor return rates led to
delay with factories ramping up to full production. Outbreaks in new countries like South
Korea also led to factory closures and Supplier issues caused some Apple products to have
long ship times, such as build to order versions of the, ‌iMac‌Pro, Mac pro and MacBook Pro,
but as of May, Apple's suppliers are back up and running. Due to the coronavirus, analysts
have revised down their projected device shipments for the first half of 2020; however, it is
still unclear how the coronavirus would affect the remainder of the year.

Employees have not been able to fly to China to start the preparation process that takes
place before the new flagship iPhones are made because Apple placed travel restrictions for
its staff. Due to delays, Apple was unable to finalise orders for processors and other iPhone
parts in February, when employees of the company usually travel to China to polish. Apple
in mid-February announced that its financial guidance for the March quarter would fall
short due to the COVID-19 outbreak. During the January earnings call, Apple said expected
to see revenue of $63 to $67 billion in the March quarter, but that wasn't a goal the
company was able to meet. Apple ended up reporting revenue of $58.3 billion during the
quarter.

Apple cited lower customer demand in China and constrained i‌Phone‌supplies worldwide as
the factors leading to lower than expected revenue numbers.
