REFLECTION ON

PROBABILITY &
STATISTICS
PRESENTED BY: JOHN ANTHONY CASUCO
• Probability & Statistics introduces students to the basic concepts and logic
of statistical reasoning and gives the students introductory-level practical
ability to choose, generate, and properly interpret appropriate descriptive
and inferential methods.
Probability is simply how likely something is to happen. Whenever we're
unsure about the outcome of an event, we can talk about the probabilities of
certain outcomes—how likely they are. The analysis of events governed by
probability is called statistics.
• Statistics and probability effect human life in every way imaginable, and
always have. From the earliest days, people have been estimating the odds
of success versus failure, about small and large matters. Probability plays a
vital role in the day to day life. In the weather forecast, sports and gaming
strategies, buying or selling insurance, online shopping, and online games,
determining blood groups, and analyzing political strategies.
