Reflection Paper, During the Earthquake Drill
Last month, our school, Legazpi City National High School (LCNHS) had an event, it
was the Earthquake Drill. The school really prepared a lot of effort that day. It is to practice or
to give the students’ knowledge about what to do in case an earthquake happens. The event
represents how the students, or the people should act in case an earthquake occurs. There
are a lot of school heads and teachers that organized everything to make the performance
and event to be perfect.
That day, we were always gathered to practice the drill. It was very tiring because we
were always told to squat in a rocky place, whenever we finished practicing, our feet always
hurt. However, even though it was tiring we always did our best to make it perfect, because
on the day of the event there were people from the regions who were going to judge our
performance. When the day of the event came, we were prepared and we were told that if
we did our best in performing the duck-cover-and hold, they were going to dismiss us early.
When we heard that we were happy and did our best performing and showed the judges that
we were trained properly on how to react in case an earthquake occurs.
It was a fun and memorable experience, even though it was tiring the hardships we
experienced while practicing was worth it. After that event we realized the importance of
being prepared and having knowledge of how to react in case a hazard happens. It is very
important to know how to act and to be prepared at all times when a hazard happens for us
to be less vulnerable and safe.
