FÁTIMA RIBEIRO

THAT’S ENGLISH B2.1

Ribadavia

Ribadavia is a small town on the province of Ourense, in Spain. It is known as the

capital of the region of the Ribeiro. It has a good connection with Ourense and Vigo
thanks to the highway A52.

As you get close to the town, you can see its vineyards which produce a well-
known wine as Ribeiro. The production of wine is the main economic activity of the
region. You can taste this delicious wine in the annual festival named “Feira do viño do
Ribeiro”.

But Ribadavia offers its visitors much more. It is an area of culture interest. If you
like Art and History, you will enjoy from walking by the Jewish Quarter to visiting the
churches of the Romanic, Gothic and Baroque periods and the castle which was built in
the fifteenth century. It is amazing town.

However, it is a special place for me because I grew up there. When I go there, I

feel like if I am coming home. I like walking by its streets and visiting places which make
me feel as a child again, such as my school or the old house of my grandparents.
