Reflection.

I think the methodology that applied is correct. Learners start with vocabulary
and grammar, then with listening practice and retrieval practice. Young
learners need music that is interesting for them. This practice shows me that
young people have different learning styles, and they are learning using their
own learning methodology, some adults think that their behaviour is the result
of wasting time watching none-sense videos, but I disagree they have
excellent technological skills and they know how to get information from
several sources. The teacher nowadays has to implement different strategies.
I think teaching English, starting with receptive skills help them to understand
better the new language as a result, learners can produce better pronunciation
and better writing.

Design a 50 minutes receptive skills lesson plan by integrating a listening

activity with a reading exercise.

Receptive language skills, or reading and listening, are skills that only requiere
students to receive and understand language rather than produce it
themselves, such as with speaking and writing. (Butler, Christin. 2009)
In this lesson I will explain the key points through a short reading text and a
listening short song.

This lesson was prepared for students level A1. High School Public System.

Engage: I will talk about my life as a teenager, I will show some pictures of the
city I was born, and some pictures when I was young.
Second, I will show some words related to the topic about THERE IS - THERE
ARE, like places in the city, school, sports, school, fashion, etc…..

and exercises about “There is - There are”

Times when Might as [6] __________
I chose this song because is suitable for students and the song considers
word caution to understand the context. This song will help students to
understand that there are several ways to use “There is and There are”

Finally for the reading practice I will play an audio book in which they describe
London city. Learners have to watch, read and listening. After liste to the audio
book, learners have to describe places in a city they would like to visit.
