- The first cry is a historical event where the Filipinos tore their cedulas which for Andres
Bonifacio is the sign of the slavery of the Filipinos to the Spaniards.

- The revolutionary leaders called the convention in a friar estate residence in Tejeros,
ostensibly to discuss the defense of Cavite against the Spaniards during the Philippine
Revolution.

1. How do you understand the issue on Rizal’s retraction?

- A retraction from Rizal would mean that the Church was incorrectly and in justify maligned
by Rizal through his works and actions. We cannot deny the fact that the Church is too
uptight in all their moral high ground and would valiantly defend that at all cost.

1. What do you think is the role of National Historical Commission in making sure that areas with
possible historical value are protected and regulated?
- The NHCP is mandated to undertake research and publication of Philippine historical works;
educational activities on historical events and personages; restoration, preservation and
conservation of movable and immovable objects of historical value and implementation of
National Historic Act of the Philippines.
