Categories and Requirements for Bus Eng I International Business Presentations

Basic Requirements: The company you choose must be a company operating in the secondary sector of
the economy. It must be a company that has an English language website. It must be a company that is
international in nature (meaning it has operations in multiple countries). Presentations should be
completed using Powerpoint, Word, or another similarly suitable software that can combine the textual
and visual information so that it may be presented in class using the primary computer and projection
screen. Images are expected to be part of each section, with the exception of the financial category and
the category about their reasons for choosing the company (though images are welcome in these
categories as well!)

Goals/Mission Statement/Ethics/Purpose

Students should provide the company’s exact “mission statement” and Logo (or logos), as well
as describe in at least several paragraphs the respective company’s primary goals, purposes, etc.

History

Students should summarize, in the form of an outline or several paragraphs, the origin and
significant developments of the company they choose, up till the present day.

Products/Services

Students should provide information about their respective company’s major categories of
products and most famous or successful products. Images for the featured products should
accompany each description. This is the category where the greatest amount of description is
expected, so do be somewhat detailed in your approach!

Location/Geography/Size

Students should include here the specific address(es) for the company’s headquarters, as well as
the precise address where they see themselves working. A description should also be provided
of where the company actively produces/sells/distributes its products, and the size/degree of its
activity (how many branches, employees, offices, stores, etc.)

Financial Information

Students should find precise information about the respective company’s current and recent
financial position (at least three years!!). Categories that should be covered are assets, equity,
income, and profit, but may also include commentary on market position and ranks by industry
or against primary competitors. Students should also provide some moderate commentary on
each category, not simply present the numbers without any analysis/observation!
Purpose in Choosing Your Company

Students should describe in detail what inspired them to choose their particular company. This
should be in paragraph form and students are expected to provide several paragraphs at the
minimum to achieve full credit.
