P R O J E C T : VERB TO BE

● INTRODUCTION

Didactic games are activities that encourage or stimulate some kind of learning in adolescents in
a simple and playful way. It should be noted that these games are very important today for a
proper child development since it is convenient that the little ones do not learn everything
through a screen.

For the little ones, learning through didactic games plays a vital role in their education since it
offers them the opportunity to collaborate, communicate and develop different skills (memory,
concentration, etc.) while having fun.

● TOPIC

The verb to be is one of the most commonly used verbs in English, so its meaning usually
depends on the context in which it is found. However, its main meanings are the following:

1. Ser: He is smart = Él es inteligente


2. Estar: It is cold today = Hoy está hacienda frío
3. Haber: Is there anybody inside? = ¿Hay alguien adentro?
4. Poder (permiso): Tell her she is not to open the door to strangers = Dile que no
puede abrirle la puerta a extraños.

➔ Main uses of the Verb to be


- Verb: Serves to mention an action or state of the subject in any tense.

I am Mexican = Soy mexicano.

- Auxiliary verb: It is used together with other verbs to imply that the actions or states are
taking place at the moment. The -ing conjugation is used for this purpose.

I am still working= Todavía estoy trabajando.


➔ Conjugation of the Verb to be

These can be:


- Past: was
- Present: are.
- Future: will.

● OBJECTIVE

○ The main objective of this game is for players to learn to identify personal
pronouns and use them correctly.
○ Fun cannot be missing, as this is also one of the main purposes.
○ The game will help in the players' learning.

● RULES
1. They are divided into groups of 3 or 4 people.
2. They will choose their game pieces and receive $ from the bank.
3. The game is played in turns.
4. Players roll the die and advance the indicated number of squares.
5. They take a card of the color that falls and can buy property.
■ Boxes:
➔ Pink: If it lands on a pink square, the player has to make a
sentence freely, using one of the pronouns.
➔ Purple: In this box the player takes a purple card, and says a
sentence according to the verb that is offered.
➔ Blue: In this box the player takes a blue card and completes the
sentence with the correct indirect object pronoun.
➔ Yellow: One turn will be lost in this box
6. If you answer right you get $ and the property can be purchased, if you answer
wrong you get no money and buy no property.
7. If you land on a purchased property, he must be paid; if you don't answer right.
8. The one with the most money and property wins.

● CONCLUSION

In this project we can learn how to use the verb to be in different ways. The verb to be is very
important in English, it is used to conjugate sentences or to mention an action or a subject.

In this project we can use it for board games, and put it into practice by writing grammatically a
sentence or pronounce it; in the same way we can use it in many things like sentences, mention
actions or state of a subject in any time, it is also used as conjugations with other verbs, the verb
to be is the most important because it is an auxiliary verb and a main verb. That is why
sometimes games are not only for fun, but also for learning.
