Give 5 diseases caused by viruses having 3 sentences of
explanation each.
1. German measles, also known as rubella, is a viral infection that
causes a red rash on the body. Aside from the rash, people with German measles usually have a fever and swollen lymph nodes.
2. Japanese encephalitis is a viral brain infection that's spread through
mosquito bites. It's most common in rural areas in southeast Asia, the Pacific islands and the Far East, but is very rare in travellers. The virus is found in pigs and birds, and is passed to mosquitoes when they bite infected animals. lastly it has no cure
3. Herpes zoster, also known as shingles, is caused by the reactivation
of the varicella-zoster virus (VZV), the same virus that causes varicella (chickenpox). Primary infection with VZV causes varicella. Once the illness resolves, the virus remains latent in the dorsal root ganglia. VZV can reactive later in a person’s life and cause a painful, maculopapular rash called herpes zoster.
4. Cold sores — also called fever blisters — are a common viral
infection. They are tiny, fluid-filled blisters on and around your lips. Cold sores spread from person to person by close contact, such as kissing. They're usually caused by herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV- 1), and less commonly herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2).
5. Chlamydia psittaci is a type of bacteria that often infects birds. Less
commonly, these bacteria can infect people and cause a disease called psittacosis. Psittacosis can cause mild illness or pneumonia (lung infection).
