6. RETURNING TO THE HOME POSITION

Operations such as manual operation checking and return to home position for starting
automatic operation are carried out manually.
Home position return operations will differ depending on the position that the vertical arm is
stopped.

WARNING
Before starting this operation, make sure that there is no person or obstruction
within the moving zone of the unloader.

POINT
For the unloader with the absolute encoder specifications (optional specifications), the
home position return operation at power on is not required.

6-1. When the Vertical Arm is Inside of the Mold:

If an alarm occurs with the inner mold during automatic operations or if an emergency stop is
activated when the arm is inside the mold (with the extract-side end L1 at ON and with the
ascent end L3 and runner side ascent end L3S at OFF,) the extraction arm is moved outside
with free operation.
* It is possible to achieve home position return even when the arm is inside the mold as long
as home position operations have been completed when the power supply is switched on and
all axis positions (teaching for each axis) have been set.

1. The product vertical arm and runner side vertical arm are moved to locations where they
will not interfere with the mold with free operation.
2. The product vertical arm and runner side vertical arm are raised outside of the molder’s
mold with free operation.
* Refer to "13-5. Free Operation" for further details on free operation. Attain home position

6-3. Method of Home Position Setting for Absolute (Optional)

For the absolute specifications, perform home position search with home position return
operation in the same way as the method of setting the home position with home position limit
for the increment specifications.
Once home position search is performed, home position return is performed at the speed that
conforms to the home position return speed. With the absolute specifications, however, the
current value is kept even if the power is turned off. Consequently, home position return is
performed at the speed that conforms to the home position return speed. If the vertical arm had
descended when the power was turned off, home position return is performed at a low speed for
safety until the vertical arm ascends.

z Display of final moving distance

[In the case of extract descent pass setting]
Moving time of crosswise axis ≦ Moving time of vertical pass set value

Assume that the final linear moving distance of the

crosswise axis is always 0≦b. Also if moving time of d
= moving time of c, the final linear moving distance of
the crosswise axis is b linear moving distance = (moving
distance of a - moving distance of c).
From the above calculation, b moving distance is
displayed as the final moving distance.

b c

Final moving distance

CAUTION
The displayed linear moving distance is a typical value. Since an error occurs
depending on the operating conditions (speed, acceleration/deceleration set
value, and load), for pass setting, perform adjustment while checking the
operation with the machine.

13. MANUAL OPERATION

13. MANUAL OPERATION

This chapter provides instructions for moving axes to the points set on the axis position setting
screen, as well as for valve operations.

13-1. Basic Manual Operation

POINT
The method described below is used, for example, to check the machine operation
manually and to perform home position return when starting automatic operation.
This method is not possible for operations involving safety problems, such as those using
interlock signals with the molding machine or safety signals received from the outside.
You cannot perform operations that are not configured in any operating mode. Before
proceeding with manual operation, open the MODE SETTING screen and check the
operating modes.
Manual operation <MANU> is available on any screens.
