BOPPPS Lesson Plan for Hip Hop Music Production

Introduction
In this lesson, students will learn the basics of hip hop music production using the BOPPPS
model. They will learn about the origins of hip hop, the different elements of hip hop music, and
how to create a hip hop beat.
Objectives
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
 Identify the different elements of hip hop music

 Create a basic hip hop beat using music production software


 Understand the cultural significance of hip hop music
Pre-Assessment
Students will be asked to complete a short survey to gauge their prior knowledge of hip hop
music and music production.
Bridge
Students will be asked to listen to a popular hip hop song and identify the different elements of
the music, such as the beat, lyrics, and melody.
Participatory Learning
1. Origins of Hip Hop (20 minutes)
 Students will watch a short video on the origins of hip hop and discuss the
cultural significance of the genre.
2. Elements of Hip Hop Music (30 minutes)
 Students will learn about the different elements of hip hop music, such as the beat,
