Approved Study: Perceptions of Students On Parent’s Separation

1. What is the rationale of your chosen problem?


- living in a household that does not include both parents, which
includes births into single-parent households.
2. Describe the setting where is your study is to be conducted?
- Ateneo De Zamboanga Senior High School, Humss Student During
2nd Semester.
3. What are the terms of variables (concepts) that need to defined, clarified,
or described to you and your reader?
- Students
- Parent’s Separation
- Perceptions
4. Look for related literature/ studies that define the main concepts of your
research. (Collect at least three references per concept) Write down the
definitions
- back in 1969 created a theory of attachment, and defined attachment
as the relationship between parent and child, this attachment provides
the child with an idea of how to form a relationship and adjust to
various life experiences (Hines, 2007)
- Along with building relationships, several other factors contribute to
effected relationships. Adolescents and young adults have shown that
they have trouble with commitment, lower trust in their partners,
lower satisfaction, trouble with interpersonal skills and greater
acceptance of divorce (Fine & Harvey, 2006).
- Family structure plays and important part in helping an adolescent
adjust and understand to the changes in their life and body. It has been
shown in prior studies that family structure is one of the factors that
influence an adolescent's success (Hines, 2007).
5. Determine how serious your chosen problem?
- Parent separation can be a very serious issue, especially for children.
It can cause a wide range of emotional and psychological problems
that can affect children's well-being and development.
6. What is the general objective or overall purpose of the study?
- To determine the possible causes for the separation of parents.
