The document discusses several strategies introduced in NSW, Australia to improve road safety and reduce fatalities, including the NSW Road Safety Strategy introduced in 2012, the Cycling Safety Action Plan from 2014-2016, and the use of advertisements and graduated licensing for young drivers. The NSW Road Safety Strategy saw road fatalities drop significantly from 28.9 in 1970 to 4.99 in 2017 through methods like increased local government involvement, addressing injury trends and emergency response, road rule enforcement, and community engagement. The document argues these strategies have been effective in making NSW's roads safer.

The NSW Road Safety Strategy is the idea of - through
community and plans - improving road safety and
making NSW’s roads the safest in Australia. Road fatalities have reduced from 28.9 in 1970 to 4.99 in 2017 thanks to the introduction of this strategy in 2012. The different methods they have used in this strategy include: - Increase involvement with the local government - Address important trends in injuries and post crash response and care - Enforce road rules - Improve involvement from the community regarding road safety I believe this strategy has helped reduce fatalities and has made our roads much safer.
The Cycling Safety Action Plan was introduced in in
2014 and closed in 2016. It supports the goals of the NSW Road Safety Strategy. Based on the information I’ve provided above, I believe this strategy has helped reduce fatalities on our roads also.
Advertisements are a strategy. Advertisements are
placed on roads and shown on TV. The idea is young people will see these and will be persuaded to follow road rules. Statistics show that the more ads that are shown, the more people are affected and less accidents are caused. Also the idea of multiple junior licenses before getting your full license is a strategy. Making sure there are special rules and laws for youngsters makes them happy to not have so many restrictions. So they’ll follow road rules. I have no evidence to prove that this works, but I’m sure it would.
