1) It’s believed that the only way to reduce accidents thanks to give much stricter punishments for

driving offenses. I partly agree with that because there are other measures that can improve safety on
our roads.
On the one hand, stricter punishments tend to be effective in enhancing safety for road users, it can
deterrent other people so that people can not deter from committing road offenses. For instance, in
Vietnam people do not wear a helmet will be fined, and those who run a red light or enter in a wrong
lane will also be fined by revoking driving licenses and paid heavily fines. In fact, those rules can
sharpen road users’ awareness about the laws when participating in traffic. Besides, the morality rate
is reduced by severely punished drunk driving and excessive speed. For example, if you go over thirty-
five kilometers per hour speed limits, your fine will be up to ten millions dong. People are encouraged
not to violate offenses in the long run.
However, besides the stricter punishments, there are more measures to ease road users’ offenses.
Firstly, the detailed road guidance should be installed in every roads’ corners. Such as cameras and
road signs can be added in order to warn people to comply with the speed limit, in the curve roads,
signs can help to calm traffic. As a result, people can see the signs and obey them better especially
during rush hour. Secondly, to reduce the police embezzle more money from the offenses, there is no
denying that enhances the awareness about obeying the laws. Traffic safety campaigns in the
neighborhood or at school should be widely organized and required everyone to participate.
In conclusion, although stricter punishments are effective ways against driving offenses, other
measures can help people from driving violences as well.

2/ Some people think that the best way to improve road safety is to increase the minimum legal
age for driving a car or motorbike.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Besides strict punishments, it’s said that one of the effective way to enhance road safety is increasing
the minimum legal age for driving a car or motorbike users. From my perspective, I party agree with
that because there are other solutions to make roads greatly safer.
When it comes to road safety, many people claim that the older they are, the more proficient they
are, their awareness about traffic enhances highly. In fact, older people can drive better and they can
make wicker and wiser decisions when they meet troubles such as parking skills, or brake hard when
there is an accident on the road. Moreover, they have had more time to practice before officially drive
a car or a motorbike. They had to go through abundant of driving exams, such as theory test of signs,
and a practice test of driving over obstacles, they are going to fail and enroll again until they get the
certificate of driving license . These can help they have more knowledge and skills not only in practical
but also the theory about the road safety.
On the other hand, the current legal age is mature enough to take responsible for their actions or
offenses. Young people also have to pay fines and if they exceed the speed limit or drunk driving, the
driving license can be revoked. As a result, more drivers will obey the rules while joining the traffic.
Furthermore, encouraging people to use public transportation should be involved not only in order to
reduce road casualties but also save energy and minimize the number of vehicle users on the road.
In short, I suppose there are enormous ways to improve road safer, but it also depends on people’s
awareness when in traffic. I believe that both young and old people should be responsible for their
actions rather than increase the minimum legal age for driving.
