Methods the government could use to improve driving safety in young people

According to recent studies, car crashes are the second leading cause of death among young
people.Multitasking while driving, not wearing a seatbelt and neglecting speed limits are some of
the factors causing crashes among young people. However,a substantial amount of these
accidents could be prevented with the involvement of the government.

First and foremost, the key to reducing the number of vehicle accidents is implementing a more
rigorous and broad driving course and a more elaborate examination. The course should cover
tasks that test one’s reflexes, dexterity, ability to focus and a more thorough description of the
safety measures that must be taken.Consequently, drivers will develop proficient driving habits
from a young age, which will benefit the society as a whole, reducing the crash rate altogether in
the future.

In addition, the government should consider making a few changes in the legislation. For

instance, raising the fines would be a great start, that could potentially motivate everybody to be
more cautious, considerate and aware of their surroundings. Moreover, studies have shown that
car crashes are three times more frequent at night, therefore a regulation regarding young
people driving at night would be beneficial.

By the large,I consider that teaching drivers the importance of the safety precautions and
developing useful skills would be the most effective method the government can take to improve
driving safety in the long term, that can persist with the generations that are to come.
