For the assenbly, refer to the attached drawing. Before feeding ofl to bumer the oil is to be circulated to attain the required of1 temperature, while the turning of oil is not necessary during normal operation. Fuel feeding rate depends on differential between primary and secondary pressures as well as primary pressure, and the attached characteristic curve is presented as a guide for fuel supply, 4. and injection curve for a differential of 10Kg/em” between primary and secondary pressures. This of] burner has a section shown in the attached drawing. Primary of1 runs through berween outer (on upper) pipes and dashes into a swirl chamber from tangential slots, hile secondary of! 4s Jet through an inner (on lower) pipe into the swirl chanber without swirl motion. Jet angle varies with the swirling velocity of ofl which 1s adjustable by the differential between prinary and secondary pri ures. The jet angle thus can be controlled simply by secondary of1 control valve and ranges from 40° to 90°, permitting a favorable flame pattern control which enables the shifting of hot zone as well as its length adjustment. It should be noted that the flame pattern will considerably change also by adjustments of inner and outer air flows being supplied through air blast cube of gas burner, while it varies with those of primary and secondry ofl pressures as above menticned. re NIPPON FURNACE KOGYO KAISHA. After the specified fan speed 1s reached, open damper to attain a sufficient draft at the kiln hood. In most cases, a draft or -1 - -2nmaq is sufficient at the kiln hood. Circulate of] till the specified ofl temperature is given at the burner. Prepare an atonizer tip suitable for a range of 1/5 to 1/2 of the normal firing rate. Start primary air fan, Slightly open primary air damper. Ignite pilot burner, then inser it from kiln hood to have the pilot flame positioned so as to avait fuel jet at a distance of about 30cm from atomizer tip. With secondary valve close, gradually open primary valve co Light burner at an ofl pressure of 15 - 20Kg/cn”. Adjust air flow to render firing status optimun. As kiln is heated, increase firing ra » suction air flow and primary air flow. After main flame becomes stable enough, withdraw pilot burner. Start kiln rotation and charge materials as required. Adjust primary air flow and draft to obtain optimum flane length and desired excess air flow. As material charging rate becomes larger, increase ofl firing rate, while the orifice plate must be replaced by larger capacity on e as nec sary. Primary air, draft and firing rate shall be controlled in accordance with kiln rotating speed and material charging rate. au NIPPON FURNACE KOGYO KAISHA. LTO. 1-59, 2.CHOME, SMITTE, TSURUMIKU, MAINTENANCE Essential parts of burner gun such as atomizer and orifice plate must be kept clean without injury or carbon adhesion. For the cleaning, never use hard metals such as file, but use vood chip, copper wire on other soft pieces. Before renoving carbon adhering to orifice plate, head nut or atomizer, be sure to soak the parts in kerosene to soften the carbon. Hard carbon deposit such as on the surfaces between atomizer and ofl tube apparently implies improper assembly or operation. If orifice plate, atonizer as head nut is suffering a damage on injury, replace the parts with new one. Where orifice plate or atomizer is considerably vorn out or damaged, never reuse it after repairing. Or otherawise, it may ‘substantially adversely affect the characteristics of orifice plate or capacity of atomizer. It is essential to check all parts to be clean before assembling atomizer.
