Method:

The descriptive correlational design was used in this quantitative study to

investigate relationships between Facebook usage and depression level. It took place at
Sta. Cruz National High School-Senior high school divided into two sections of Grade
11 STEM students. The questionnaires were completed in class using Google Forms by
the participants.
Procedure. An online survey will be administered to Grade 11 STEM students, and
participants will be given questionnaires via Google Forms to answer questions about
their time spent on Facebook and how it affects their level of anxiety (Mattick & Clarke,
1998).
Participants. Purposive sampling was used to ensure maximum heterogeneity and
provide a wide range of responses to the topic. The questionnaires were distributed in
two sections of the Grade 11 STEM strand. There were 50 respondents, 25 from the
Hornbill and the other 25 from the Sparrow. No personally identifiable information will be
collected, ensuring confidentiality.

Research Design
A descriptive correlational research design was utilized in this investigation. As
was used in the case where data was collected from respondents at a single point in
time. This design is always more concerned with the what of the research subject than
with the why of the research subject (Babbie, 1990).

Research Sample

The respondents of this study came from Santa Cruz National High School-
Senior High School. Randomly sampling is used to select 50 students from two sections
of Grade 11 STEM strands, Sparrow and Hornbill.
Research Locale

This study will be conducted at Santa Cruz National High School-Senior High School.
This place was selected to know the efficiency of the study of the usage of Facebook
concerning Grade 11 STEM students' anxiety levels. This study will be conducted on
students from two Grade 11 STEM strands, Sparrow and Hornbill. Due to the pandemic,
the research study will be conducted through Google form questionnaires.

Research Design

The first step is to obtain approval from the advisers of 2 sections of Grade 11
stem students. After being permitted, the researchers explain the purpose of the study
to the selected respondents. The researchers collected the data by means of a
questionnaire through a Google form. After the respondents had taken the test, the
Google forms were checked, tallied, interpreted, and analyzed.

Research Analysis

Tables and graphs were constructed to determine the respondents’ profile and
anxiety levels. To provide a statistical view of the sample, descriptive statistics will be
computed. The Pearson r correlation will be used to assess the strength of the
relationship between Facebook usage and anxiety levels. The linear relationship
between these variables will be measured using regression analysis.
