DEDICATION

I want to dedicate to all the people who

supported me on the way to getting into
the police training school, it was an
arduous path to be where I am and I owe
it all to them, who would become my
closest family and friends but Out of
everyone I always want to highlight my
parents for always being by my side even
if they are not around.
At the end of a new academic semester within the training school, the
students have been allowed a week of vacation, which I have taken
advantage of to visit different areas of the region and one of them is the
Tres Marías waterfalls. Hey I decided to write a review of what I
thought was the place which I really enjoyed a lot.

The Cordillera Escalera regional conservation area is located within

four districts of the province of Lamas and five of the province of San
Martín, these included in the San Martín region. It is the First Regional
Conservation Area of the country, which was created as such in 2005
through the request that the government of San Martín made to the
State.
The Cordillera Escalera covers an area of 149,870 hectares. In it you
can see part of the mountain range known as Cahuapayas, which
represent the youngest found in the eastern Peruvian Andes. The site
is also important because it hosts an important sample of tropical
montane cloud forests that cover more than 50% of its territory. The
Cordillera Escalera
Regional Conservation
Area is also valuable
for its ability to produce
a significant amount of
water that supplies the
more than 150,000
inhabitants of the
surrounding towns.

Within this Protected

Area it is possible to
recognize a diversity of
possible landscapes due to their altitudinal differences and that are the
habitat of different species of flora and fauna typical of each of the
ecosystems that develop in it. Among these are the Cloud Forests,
they are important not only because of their scarcity in the country, but
also because within the Reserve, it is in these where important basins
originate such as: Caynarachi, Chazuta-Chipesa, Mayo-Cumbaza,
Shanusi and Sistema Pampayacu-Charapillo.

Among the landscapes that, in addition to the previous ones, can be

seen in this Conservation Area, there is a great variety of lagoons, hot
springs and waterfalls that increase the landscape and tourist
attractiveness of the region.

Regarding the general flora of the place, a total of 96 different species

are recognized, including medicinal, food, ornamental, industrial, and
artisan plants, among others.
As for the Flora, it is a site of diversity of endemic and endangered
species. Of the former, for example, three amphibians that are only
found in this place are recognized. And of the latter, you can recognize
endangered animals such as the spectacled bear, also known as the
Andean bear, as well as the woolly monkey, among others.
