Case Reprot-3

This case report is a clinical case report of 8 sessions, on a client, who was diagnosed
with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). The assessment part was included with appropriate
information about the issue and treatment planning. And the presenting disorder was identified
and matched to the criteria in Diagnostic Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder 5th Edition

 Total Sessions:
There were a total 8 number of sessions, and the duration of a session was 45-50 minutes
approximately.

 Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD):

 Case Description:

ZA, a code name of the client, was 22 years old, an undergraduate student of the
University of Malakand Dir (Lower). He was the first child in his family. The client parents
were alive. His father was a shopkeeper and his age was 45 years. His shop was in city’s market.
ZA had not a smooth communication with his father because he was very strict type of person
and did not talk with his children openly. His mother was a house wife, and she had schooled up
to 5th class. The relationship of the client with his mother was strong and he had shared all things
with her. The client had a total 4 siblings. There were 2 sisters and 2 brothers. As the first child
of his family the client had a very smooth relation with all siblings. His elder sister was 20, and
getting her higher education, and she was supposed to take care of his all family members. The
rest younger brother and sisters were 16, 14, 12, respectively. And all of them had good
communication with the client. The client was not satisfied with his parent’s parenting style,
because his father was not co-operative. So the client described his parent’s parenting style as
common. ZA’s birth was normal, and he achieved his milestones at early age of childhood, and
his health was very good. He belonged to a loving family and he grew up in a closed family, and
he recalled his childhood happily,

The client described his-self as “a not good boy” who was not supposed to be more social and
involved in many activities, further he talked about his-self that he was a “good student” and his
academic performance was quite good. He had a very good self-esteem. The client social circle
was not very larger, he was a little choosy in this matter, but still he had a strong relationship
with his peers during school. The client had also some good peer relation with neighborhood
children. He had not any romantic-relationship. He was interested and speared his super time in
sports. He had not any proper schedule to follow. Until this matter ZA had not seen any other
psychological or mental problem.
