Chapter Six

CONCLUSION

This chapter presents the main findings of the study which centers on the final conclusive
answers to the research questions. Other findings not presented under main findings will be
discussed under unexpected results. The perceived limitations of the study will be also be
discussed. Based on the main finding, implications will be derived which eventually lead to
recommendations.

6.1 Main Findings

Reminders:

 MF are your direct and conclusive answers to your RQs in other words. Those are
generalizations based on the findings.
 This should not be detailed and no data introduced
 Narrative answer to the RQ

The following are the main finding (Conclusion) of this research study:

6.1.1 There are three common factors identified by the respondents why they follow their
favorite social media personality.

6.1.2 The personality and lifestyle of the respondents changed because of the influence of
their favorite social media personality.

6.1.3 Gender was a factor that determined the extent of influence of social media on the
respondents. Additionally, age was not a factor that determined the extent of influence of social
media on the respondents.

6.1.4 Unexpected Findings (Optional-If applicable)

Reminder:

 Something that are not looking for. This is called an “incidental finding.” These unexpected
findings are not directly related to the research. However, they may show important
information about your topic.
 Findings that do not confirm with common findings in previous studies
 For qualitative studies, they are findings that are totally different from your Research
Assumption in chapter 1.
 They could be a basis for recommended future studies.
 If you are truly convinced that there are NO unexpected findings, the you may skip this part

An unexpected result coming out from this study is on respondents’ perception repeated
mention of certain way of thinking or mindsets that they acquire as a result of them following
their favorite social media personality. Additionally indicate a certain degree of blindly
following whatever their favorite social media personnel say and do.

6.4 Implications of the Study

Based on the main findings, following are the implications derived:

6.4.1 It implies the importance of thoroughly using interesting content, relevant themes, and
relatable posts as criteria for posting on social media. This further implies the need for
conducting future studies Content analysis of Posting of Social Media Influencers.

6.4.2 It implies the importance of local guidelines on social media post that are sensitive to
local culture in line with language and fashion.
6.4.3 The finding that HR practices indeed impact job performance of SME employees implies
the need to the relevant ministry to come up with mandates for SMEs to ensure they have
specific HR people onboard to look into the creation and implementation of HR practices
in compensation, performance evaluation and promotion.

6.5 Limitations of the Study

Reminders:

 The limitations of the study in chapter 1 is different from L.S in chapter 6

 Limitations of the study in chapter discusses what you cant do in the research due to some
limitations.
Examples: Your university does not allow you to use some research method.
You do not speak the local language in the place where you will conduct your study
Limitations due to covid19 pandemic (XXXXXX)
 Discuss perceived weakness of your research due to limitations you have pointed in LS-chapter
1
 Related to thematic discussions of findings in chapter 5, discussed what you were not able to
show / do that ought to be addressed by your research. – this becomes a basis for
recommending future studies

6.5.1 The findings was not able to look closely on the mindsets of consumers as they go through
the different SMM of coffee shots which could have been possible if the study was done with
qualitative methods

In this research study, there are a few limitations. The first one is time limitation is that due the
quantitative nature of the research, it was not able to explore the thoughts and opinions of the
respondents related to their experience of following certain social media personalities. The
second limitation is the inability of this research to cover a wider range of heterogeneous groups
of respondents so as to be able to present wider range of results and perspectives related the
research question.

6.6 Recommendations and Future Studies

Guide:

 You may have 3 sets of recommendations

- Based on implications (main)
- Other recommendations not covered in the M.R (Optional)
- Recommended future studies
 For main recommendations, convert implications to recommendations
 For recommended future studies, refer to implications and limitations

Based on the discussed implications, it is recommended that:

6.6.1 Parents of minors do a self-imposed monitoring on the type of social media personalities
being followed by their children. It is further recommended that future studies be
undertaken to explore via qualitative methods the impact of those factors to social media
followers who are still of minor age.
6.6.2 The MoPTc should provide local guidelines on the appropriate fashion and language
heard, shown and read on social media.
6.6.3 the MoI regulate the use of gender insensitive material on social media. It is further

on both cost and quality.

Guide:
 Conclude the chapter by highlighting what your study was able to accomplish, or what your
study was able to contribute in the field of research within the given are
- Was your findings able to establish solid relationships between key variables?
- Were your findings able to disprove an existing theory
- Was your findings able to generate a new conceptual framework?

This chapter led to eventual conclusive answers to the research questions. That is, business
entities have all the needed capital resources except financial capital resources and that all
resources those business have, have VRIO characteristics that provides its competitive
advantage. Also concluded is that there is a low positive relations between perceived VRIO
characteristics of the capital resources and the perceived competitive advantage of those
resources. It is on the basis of these mentioned conclusions that implications and eventually
recommendations were framed.
