The Essentials of a Christian Prayer
1. Christocentric (Christ centered) –
prayer springs from a healthy
relationship with Jesus.

the good news.
- As a listener: Hear God’s message,
No judgement, Evaluate, compare ,
counsel, to teach but LISTEN.
- AFTER THAT EMBRACE SILENCE.
The Stages of Lectio Divina
1. Lectio Reading – read the text slowly
and prayerfully, constantly listening
for that word that God has prepared
for you. You may want to re-read the

yourself interiorly and focus on God’s

that God speaks to you. THE PURPOSE

yourself. Allow it to speak to you in a

to interact with your thoughts, hopes,
memories, experience, and desires
until it brings you to your reality which

How is the early Church described?

LAIKOS/laity (belonging of) + KLEROS/clergy (a portion or a lot own by God) = P.O.G. (people of God) –

1. TD (theological distinction)
Edict of Milan - law proclaiming that Christian as the official religion or the empire
