D.2 Re-centering Component of RNC Isolator


The re-centering component of RNC isolator FbR, is
due to the quasi-ellipsoidal configuration of the rolling body
(core) that provides the RNC isolator with a linear built-in
gravity-based re-centering mechanism as shown in Fig 3. The
intention beyond the integration of such mechanism is to
prevent having displacements after the earthquake and also to
