How to run and analyze

multiple model versions

Rock Flow Dynamics


Create new model versions 2

1. Go to Brugge_Var directory, copy BRUGGE_var_1.data in BRUGGE_var_1_1.data,


BRUGGE_var_1_2.data (we have three similar versions of the base model now)
2. Load BRUGGE_var_1_1.data into tNavigator

1. Open model

2. Select
Brugge_var_1_1.data

1. Fluid Properties, RP Water-Oil


2. Hold SHIFT button, and move RP points (blue squares). Let’s make
Brugge_var_1_1 and Brugge_var_1_2 different. For example, let’s move water
RP-points down in the first case, and move right in the second one
3. Close Brugge_var_1_1.data
4. Open Brugge_var_1_2.data

Hold SHIFT and use Left

1. Hold SHIFT button, move RP points (blue and red squares)


2. Close Brugge_var_1_2.data

Automatic saving of RP curves 5

1. A new folder USER is created in the folder with base model


2. In the USER-folder RP (that were created in GUI) are saved automatically. These
files are used in model loading and calculations
3. Initial model RP don’t change! You can delete files from USER-folder and load your
model in initial variant without modifications

Create queue 6

1. tNavigator main window. File. New queue


2. Save file queue.tnb
3. Press ОК

Add models to queue, starting batch 7

1. Add models to Queue


2. Select one or several *.data files (Brugge_var_1.data, Brugge_var_1_1.data,
Brugge_var_1_2.data), press OK
3. Calculation will run automatically

Open model in tNavigator 9

1. tNavigator main window. File. Open


2. Load Brugge_var_1.data into tNavigator

Choose
Brugge_var_1.data

1. Document, Load results, Load tNavigator Graphs


2. Select Brugge_var_1_1.data
3. Repeat for Brugge_var_1_2.data

Comparing models in GUI 11

1. Graphs, Totals, Group – FIELD, Reset all the selections


2. Open Oil Total and select Oil Total, Oil Total[Brugge_var_1_2.data], Oil
Total[Brugge_var_1_1.data]
3. Open Oil Total[H] and select single Oil Total[H]
4. Observe, that Brugge_var_1_1.data is the best match

Reset selection

1. Compare Water Total the same way


2. Go to Analytics, select Field, select Watercut for all three models and
Watercut[H]

2. Press Settings and choose parameters (Oil Total, Water Total)
3. Time Step Selection – First and Last Steps
4. See parameter values for Brugge_var_1, Brugge_var_1_1 и Brugge_var_1_2 and
