EXPERIMENT NO. 1
TITLE: DISTURBED SOIL SAMPLING, LABELLING AND STORAGE
b. Get soil sample. Place the soil sample in a clear cellophane and tie it to secure
the sample.
c. Fill in the needed data for the soil sample label. Place the soil sample and its
label in another clear cellophane.
d. For the 1 meter depth, deepen the hole to 1 meter below the ground surface.

e. Repeat steps b and c to obtain another set/cellophane of sample for the 1 m
depth.
IV. RESULTS
The light soil was from Dasitam, Baclayon, Bohol, while the dark soil was
from Katipunan, Anda, Bohol. Each soil type has two sets of soil samples: one
was obtained from 0.5 meters below the ground surface and the other from 1
meter below the ground surface.
V. CONCLUSION
Geotechnical exploration and testing are critical in determining the
properties of soil. Disturbed soil is an important factor in soil testing as it depicts
most of the physical properties of the soil. The proper sample method will yield
more precise findings in determining soil properties and structure. After obtaining
a sample, its storage is just as critical as the sampling itself; thus, after labelling
the soil samples, the group stored them properly in the laboratory.
