I’m really eager to tell you about my

favourite film. And to start with, I reassure you that I’m not an avid movies fan, I
rarely watch something, but if I do, that means I have some spare time.
So, I will tell you about “Dead poets society”.
It’s an American drama, starring Robin Williams, Robert Sean Leonard etc. Those
people there look very young and handsome, because it was released in 1989, so
when I saw actors’ recent photos, I realized that time flies by very quickly. Their
appearance has changed so much! Still, they are considered as very successful actors.
Speaking briefly about the plot, John Keating, a professor with new methods of
teaching English, tries to encourage students to break free from the norm and live life
unapologetically. Having found professor’s graduate album, they discover that he
was in an anonymous group named “Dead poets society”. Then students decide to
make their own “society” like that: they come to the cave and read poetry there.
However, after one member’s death, the investigation is started and, unfortunately,
the professor gets fired.
This film is exactly my cup of tea because of a few things. Firstly, I really like its old
vibe, the way how boys are dressed, and the humour. Secondly, the most crucial thing
for me is the main idea. We can see that the school has a problem with accepting new
teaching methods, what is very sad. Educators there don’t understand that sometimes
it’s okay to try new things, because time doesn’t stop and people change, every
generation is unique. That’s why making different approaches to teaching will have
better results in the end.
All in all, I really enjoy watching films and series, however, I don’t do it very often.
Mainly because I don’t have much free time. Still, I have my favourite film and it’s
called “Dead poets society”, and it represents the idea of not effective educational
system, so new generation studies in a very conservative way.
