1 INT. CAFETERIA - MORNING

Students are flocking in the canteen area beside the covered

court. The whole place is packed. Numerous tables are already
occupied. Some can be seen standing on the side busily eating
their food. A cafeteria worker irritatingly tells the
students to fall in line properly as they simultaneously
crowd the counter, yet none didn't heed her. A student from
the crowding apologized after bumping onto her, she lost
balance slightly. The cafeteria glared at him before walking
grumpily back into her station.

DREI stands idly in a distance from the covered court's

threshold, watching the students flow inside and out. He
impatiently taps his right foot continuously. Arms crossed in
front of his chest. His left hand holding a P100 bill. He
gazes back and forth from the burger station to his
wristwatch.

He heaves a deep sigh and clicks his tongue after scratching

the back of his head. His right foot tapping on the floor
gained speed. Before turning around, Drei glanced on his
wristwatch. It is already 9:10 AM. He inserted the money on
his chest pocket.

ROLD, along with her friends, are happily conversing with one
another walks into view. He bumped on Drei's shoulder when he
turned around, causing him to slightly lose his balance.

DREI
Sorry.

He saw a subtle hint of shock on Rold's face when he lifted

his gaze, then she smiles. He and his friends continued
walking. Drei is rooted in place while his gaze came along
with their departure.

Rold turns his head around to give him a half-smile. Rold's

gaze met his, but it only took a second. Drei watched them
disappear as they turned around the corner.

The bell's ring knocked him back into his senses and caused
panic to majority of the students. He hears them complaining
in the background. Some are not yet finished eating their
food, and several hastily consumes their food on the way.

2 EXT. SCHOOL EXIT - AFTERNOON

Drei briskly walks towards the school exit. He lifted his

left hand to check the hour. His Rolex's hands of time showed
that it is already 5:30 in the afternoon. His pace sped up.
2.

He passed by the small store selling deep-fried street foods,

but he went back and decided to stop by. While busy thinking
about what he has to eat, Drei noticed Rold in his peripheral
vision. He muttered under his breath.

DREI
Shet. 'Tanginang 'yan.

Drei slightly shook his head to the left; he then heaved a

sigh. He took a quick glance to where Rold is, but he is
nowehere to be found. The store owner attended on him.

DREI
Ate, magkano po ito lahat?

STORE OWNER
P15 lang lahat 'yan, 'toy.

DREI
Thank you po.
(He handed his payment before
leaving.)

A male's voice called Drei's name from the corner of the

sidewalk. It caught his attention, he stopped on his tracks
and looked from where it came from. Drei's jaw tensed when he
sees Rold standing right in front of him. Their gaze
connected. Rold's chest rises from his obvious slow and heavy
breathing. Drei noticed him biting the corner of his lips and
the twiddling of his fingers on his right hand. Rold looked
away and hid his right hand on his back.

Drei stares at Rold blankly, but his eyes are filled with
grim. Rold spoke when he noticed Drei pick up his tracks.

ROLD
Drei... puwede ba tayong mag-usap?

Drei turned around, confusion is evident on his face mixed

with a subtle hint of irritation. His chest risen from the
slow and deep breath he took. Drei let out a quick sigh
afterwards.

DREI
Para saan?
(he couldn't help raising his
voice intonation.)

Rold gulped. He looked away once again and fidgeted with his

fingers. Drei looked at his wristwatch. It is already 5:45

PM. He took a sharp sigh and jerked his head to the left. He
attempted to walk. Rold grabbed Drei's left arm.

ROLD
Please? Kahit saglit lang.
(his voice cracked.)

Drei withdrew his arm from Rold's grip. Clicked his tongue
and took a sigh.

ROLD
(cont'd)
Sorry.

DREI
OK. After you.

ROLD
Thank you.

Both of them stood there for quite a few seconds. Drei stood
there while slowly tapping his right foot and glimpsed on his
wristwatch. Rold took a few nervous glances.

ROLD
Uhm... tara?

Drei followed him when Rold walked and crossed the road.

3 EXT. DOCK - 10 MINUTES BEFORE SUN SET

Kids are running around amidst the crowd on the dock's

threshold. Its length accommodates different individuals
casually enjoying the sea breeze. Everyone is busy minding
their own business by using their phones, some sit at the
edge while looking at the horizon, couples holding their
hands at waiting sheds. Several people tucking their hands
under their armpit; some are hugging themselves. There were
quite a few who wear sweater or jackets. Strands of hair
flying from the strong breeze of the wind accompanied by the
dissipating sound of forth as waves crash on the rocky side
of the dock.

Drei rubbed both of fingers on his palm, clenched his fists,

before tucking them under his armpits. Rold noticed.

ROLD
May jacket ako sa bag, baka gusto mong
gamitin?
(Rold motions to get it inside the
bag.)
4.

DREI
'Di, okay lang. 'Wag na, ikaw na lang
ang gumamit.

Rold nodded his head. Both of them then sat at the edge of
the dock facing the Gat-Uban Park on the west. People walking
along the sea wall looked tiny ants from their distance.

ROLD
Drei... sorry.

Drei turns his head to him, Rold's head is downcast. Kids

voices filled the silence between them and a few motor
vehicles passing by behind them.

DREI
I didn't deserve all that; I hope
aware ka.

ROLD
Alam ko, ako naman talaga ang may
kasalanan. I am sorry kasi I put you
through all that.
(Rold met Drei's gaze.)

DREI
Choice mo naman gawin 'yon, kaya 'di
mo na naman kailangan mag-sorry. Tapos
na naman tayo kaya okay lang.

Rold looked away, tears welling up on his eyes. Drei sighed

and looked at his wristwatch. His lips stretched to form a
smile. Time says that it already is 6:00 in the evening. Drei
stood up from sitting and went to the other side of the dock.
Rold looks up to him as he crosses the other side of the
road.

The waning pale tint of orange gently illuminates Drei's face

while the winds breeze through his hair. He took a deep
breath through his nose before letting out deep sigh. A smile
formed on his lips. He stood there for quite a few minutes.
Rold silently sits there while watching Drei enjoy the sun
set.

Drei turned around and saw Rold staring back at him. Drei
gave him a soft smile as he gently sighs. His elongated
shadow casts over Rold sitting at the edge of the dock.

Drei took a glance on his watch. It is 6:05 in the evening.
