ABOUT THE COURSE

This CATIA V5 Automation(VBA) training course will introduce you to the automation
process in CATIA using the visual basic language learn how to creak, macros in CATIA V5
using visual basic for application in a variety of the fundamental areas. This course is
scheduled by arrangement and can be arranged for one-on-one training group session on-site
or on premise.

18 years of writing macros for CATIA V5 used in project for airbus, boeing-comac-
luthanso, Mercedes Benz group, Volkswagon, BMW and AUDI, therefore this course is
based on practical experience and not on theory in this online course CATIA V5 Automation

HISTORY

CATIA started as an in house development in 1977 by French aircraft manufacturer “Avions

marcel dassault” to provide 3D surface. Modelling and NC function for the CADAM
software the use at that time to develop the mirage fighter jet, Initially named CATI RT was
renamed CATIA in 1981 when Dassault created the renamed CATIA in 1981 develop and
sell to software under the management of its first CEO Francis Bernard Dassault systems
signed a non-exclusive distribution agreement with IBM that was also selling CADAM for
lack heed since 1973 version 1 was released in 1982 as an add on for CADAM.

During the eighties CATIA saw winder adoption in the aviation and military industries with
users such as Boeing and general dynamics electric boat corp.

Dassault systems purchased CADAM from IBM in 1992 and the next year CATIA CADAM
was released.

Since it supports multiple stages of product development from conceptualization design and
engineering to manufacturing it is considered a CAM software and is sometimes refer to as a
3D product lifecycle management software suite like most of its competition in facilities
collaborative engineering through an integrated cloud service and has support to be used
across disciplines including surfacing and shape design electrical fluid and electronic
systems design mechanical engineering and systems engineering.

Besides being used in a wide range of industries from aerospace and defence to package
design CATIA has been used by architect frank genius to design some of its signature
building.
