If there is an opportunity, I don’t want to stay sitting there, I might to think and

ABSTRACT

ARON, ROLAND P. Central Philippines State University, Kabankaln City, Negros Occidental,

March 2015. Approaches on Analyzing Skewed Liker-Scale Small Sample Data Sets on

Social Science Researches.

Adviser: Mr. Michael M. Bacolod

This study sought to answer the following objectives: To determine the most frequently

used statistical analysis, approaches on skewed likert - scale small sample data sets on social

sciences researches, to determine the result of Skewnes analysis on the different data sets and to

determine the relative efficiency of the different parametric and non- parametric tests in

analyzing skewed likert – scale small sample data sets. The gathered data were 10 thesis books

from the undergraduate theses/ social science research books of the students/graduates of

Central Philippines State University (CPSU) Library/Colleges S.Y 2013-2014.

In this study Skewness analysis is used to analyzed likert scale small sample data sets

(n>30) after then analyzed by difference and association using counter part of both parametric

and non-parametric statistical tools. The test of Proportion was also used to determine the

relative efficiency of two models. The Study reveals that in analyzing Skewed likert scale with

small samples (n<30). One–Way ANOVA is significantly different from Kruskal – Wallis H-

test. Somehow testing its Association Chi-Square Test is significant in testing skewed likert

scale with small sample data setS
