PROBLEM AND IT’S BACKGROUND

1.1 Introduction

In human life, communication is crucial. Because the glue that ties a society
together is communication. It aids in the sharing of information and expertise as well
as the development of interpersonal relationships. It gives the freedom of sharing
perspectives and perception. The term "communication" comes from the Latin word
"communis," which means "to unite." implies, common. It can be quite beneficial in a
person's life. Particularly now that we are in the midst of a pandemic. However, it is
well known that communication is limited now. Because our mobility is restricted. As
a precaution against the virus's threat.

Communication is essential in both personal and professional life. In the

workplace, education, and any other setting where people interact other (Encarta
1998). The case of major depressive disorder gets higher and higher these past two
years. Since the pandemic starts. According to the article of People who are bound to
their own homes, as well as pupils who are unable to attend school for face-to-face
learning, find it difficult to communicate in any way, gradually.

The researchers aim to focus on the Senior High School Students of SSASHS as
their respondents wherein the focus of the research is the impact of communication.
The main focus of the study is to know the impacts of communication while people
or students are bound to their own homes. How lack of communication affects the
behavior of a students towards their learning.

The researchers claims that communication will help each and every student on
how to communicate properly. So that they are able to express what they are trying
to say. This will be the way for them to help themselves explain and bring out some
different feeling, that will at least lessen the burden inside of them. In addition,
communication is a huge part in a society. Things will be more easier by having a
great and good communication.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken
place by George Shaw. The researcher’s goal is to know and discover the significance
of communication, in times of pandemic. And to give ways how to make use of
communication in all ways.

1.2 Significance of the Study

The result of this study will benefit the following:

To the Students, they maybe able to understand the significance, importance and
effectiveness and especially impact of communication and how they will practice the
proper way of reaching to others.

To the Parents, in this study parents will be able to understand an essence of good
communication. Parents will understand the communicating with them will help their
children to support children’s well-being and development.

To the Teacher, Achieving effective communication will have benefits in a classroom

by setting boundaries for behavior and expectations of learning. Effective
communication skills is a big help for a teacher in transmitting of education,
classroom management and interraction with students in the class.

To the researcher, to know the importance of communication will have benefits to

all researchers and the community therefore, they know that they pay attention to
everyone. Communication skills will improve to the researcher they find some fact to
things.
To the institution, the significance and impact of communication in the institution is
to strengthen communication in religious, educational and social. The
communication skills indeed helpful to everyone and it will help them get closer to
everyone and be able to express a lot of information about the institution to improve
everything.

1.3 Statement of the Problem

The main purpose of the study is to conduct and raise awareness on facing
difficulties in communicating and to know the different impact of communication by
Senior High School Students of Salinungan Stand Alone Senior High School Academic
year 2021-2022. To provide ways and solutions on how to give importance of
communication and its beneficial impact. The effects of lack of communication might
be worsening of anxiety, extreme sadness, misunderstanding, limited information,
and lack of knowledge. Specifically, it will seek answers to the following questions:

1. What are the impacts of communication in Senior High School Students of SSASHS

2. How can interpersonal communication benefit students?

3. How does communication help students in performing well in school?

4. Why communication plays a big role to a human performance?

1.4 Scope and Delimitation

This study covers the impact of communication among grade 11 senior high
school students in Humanity and Social Science(HUMSS), Science, Technology,
Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), Accounting, Business and Management (ABM),
Technical-Vocational-Livelihood(TVL) strands of the K-12 program in Salinungan
Stand-Alone Senior High School( SSASHS) along with the circumstances that they
might experienced or have such as lack of technologies, as well as the different ways
on how student can still have communication despite the circumstances. This study
will be confined to 30 officially enrolled grade 11 students SSASHS who were been
selected in the academic year 2021-2022. The answers of the respondents from the
survey conducted via google form were the data used in this study. Also because of
the ethical consideration and data privacy act in research, the respondents names
were not revealed

1.5 Conceptual Framework

The visual depiction of the procedure to acquire required information as well as

the study's final product will be shown in this section of the research. It will address
the resources required to collect this information as well as the study's ultimate
outcome.

The conceptual framework of the study, shows and conduct the research by the
independent and the dependent variables. In the Independent variables will appears
the respondents profile, such as age and gender. Also the significance of
communication, and set of questions. Whereas the dependent variable will be the
outcome of the study where importance and the ways on how communication will
always be effective in times of world health crisis.

1.6 Definition of Terms

The vocabulary given below has been operationally defined based on connotation
in order to properly appreciate the paper. Following are the terminologies:

Communication. Is the act of sharing, giving and receiving information. Or in

other term reading, talking, listening and writing.

Effectiveness. The degree to which something is successful in producing a

desired result

Interpersonal Relationship. The concept of interpersonal relationship involves

with social association, connection, or affiliations between two or more people.

Information. Facts about something or someone offered or learned.

Misunderstanding. An incorrect understanding of something.

Significance. Something that conveys or implies meaning often does so in an

oblique or indirect manner.

Technology. The outcome of accumulated knowledge and application in all

techniques, skills, methods, and processes utilized in industrial ad production and
scientific study, which is constantly evolving

Beneficial. beneficial or advantageous; resulting in good

 Perspective. a particular attitude or way of looking at something; a point of
view

Impact. Have a strong effect on someone or something.
