MONTY HALL PROBLEM EXPERIMENT

Let’s Make A Deal is a game show hosted by Monty Hall. The grand prize in the
show is behind one of three doors. Less desirable prizes (ex. Goats) are behind the
other two doors. You select one of the doors, say door 1 then Monty Hall reveals
one of the less desirable prizes behind one of the other doors. You are then given
the opportunity either to stay with your original choice or to choose the
remaining closed door.
Now, let’s make an experiment by playing the game….

Use the search engine to find this website:

1.) Run the Monty Hall Problem simulation 100 times using the strategy of not
switching (choose KEEP then press start to run the simulation). Record the
statistics given. Then run it again 100 times by using the strategy of
switching (choose CHANGE then press start to run the simulation). Again,
get the statistics.

This is where you choose whether to Keep or Change choices.

2.) This time, play the game manually. Click “Clear result” first then click your
door of choice then click it again (hindi ka magpapalit ng choice, gets?!:).
Do this 10 times and record the results. Then, play again another 10 times
but use the strategy of switching meaning after the 1st door was revealed,
click the other door that is not your initial choice. Record again your results.
3.) After the two experiments, which strategy seems to be the best strategy for
winning the grand prize? What type of reasoning have you used?
