Stand up after the adhan and begin Khutbah by making the opening statements:

Allah says in the quran

O you who believed! Fear Allah as He should be feared, and die not except i the state of being
muslim

dear brothers and sisters in islam,

The Noble Quran has descriptions that Allah Almighty conveyed through its verses. If people
comprehend and reflect on it and act on it, then their hearts would be rectified, their
conditions would be improved, and they would have the bliss in this world and the next.
However, not reciting, understanding and reflecting on the Quran resulted in many Muslims
being denied the blessings, benefit and guidance of the Quran.

Indeed the most important description of the Quran and the one that appears the most in its
verses is that it is guidance that guides mankind as individuals and societies to what suits
them in all their affairs.

And it is the first description that one hears when he starts to read it. In the beginning of
Surah Al Baqarah:

َ ‫ْب فِي ِه ُه ًدى ل ِْل ُم َّتق‬

2:‫البقرة‬-‫ِين‬ َ ‫َذل َِك ْال ِك َتابُ ال َري‬

Al Baqarah (2) 2: This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those
conscious of Allah

And as far as to what is related to this world and people’s dealing with one another, the
Quran guides to the best, easiest and most beneficial ways; in politics, economics and
morals. In food, drink and clothing. In familial, societal and international relations. There are
detailed rulings in parts of it. And general rules that organize all of it. The one guided by the
Quran does not fall into human confusion. And is not moved by their whims.

The description of the Quran as guidance has been repeated in many verses:

َ ‫ُه ًدى ل ِْل ُم َّتق‬

2:‫البقرة‬-‫ِين‬
Al Baqarah (2) 2: A guidance for those conscious of Allah

َ ‫ُه ًدى َو ُب ْش َرى ل ِْلمُْؤ ِمن‬

2:‫النمل‬-‫ِين‬

An Naml (27) 2: As guidance and good tidings for the believers

And there are many verses similar to them. But it should be noted that the Quran is
described with guidance that is not limited to a specific field or a specific time. Rather it is
absolute and in general, to indicate that it is guidance in everything. And that whoever is
guided by the Quran to any field of this worldly life and hereafter is guided to the most
correct, most suitable and best.

I say what you have heard and I seek forgiveness from Allah for me and you from every sin. So
seek forgives from Him, Verily He is Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

Second Khutbah

َ ‫ َو َأ ْش َه ُد َأنْ اَل ْ ِإ َل َه ِإاَّل ْ هللَا ُ َوحْ دَ هُ اَل ْ َش ِري‬, ‫هللا‬

‫ْك َل ُه َوَأ ْش َه ُد َأنَّ م َُحمَّدَ اً َع ْب ُدهُ َو َرس ُْولُ ُه‬ ِ ‫ُول‬ َّ ‫ َوال‬,ِ ‫الحمْ ُد هَّلِل‬
ِ ‫صاَل ةُ َوال َّساَل ُم َع َلى َرس‬ َ

dear brothers and sisters in islam,

Our Lord Almighty has informed us that the Quran is a book if guidance. The one guided by
the Quran does not go astray in any of the matters of this world and the religion. Allah
Almighty has repeated to us that the biggest wisdom for revealing the Quran is to be guided
by it. And every description that the Quran was praised with is due to that the Quran is a
book of guidance that guides to the most suitable. And our Lord, Most Glorified and Exalted
informs us of that and He is the Most Knowledgeable, Most Just and Most Truthful.
Oh Allah guide us through the Quran. And relieve our chests through it. And rectify our
condition through it. And facilitate our affairs through it. And purify our hearts through it.
And illuminate our vision through it. And bestow upon us the enjoyment of reciting and
reflecting upon it. And grant us success to act upon it.

We ask Allah Almighty to increase our attachment to Him and illuminate our hearts with Iman
(faith). Indeed Allah is All Hearing, Answering.

‫صلُّوا َع َل ْي ِه َو َسلِّمُوا َتسْ لِيمًا‬ َ ‫ون َع َلى ال َّن ِبيِّ ۚ َيا َأ ُّي َها الَّذ‬
َ ‫ِين آ َم ُنوا‬ َ ‫ِإنَّ هَّللا َ َو َماَل ِئ َك َت ُه ي‬
َ ُّ‫ُصل‬

Al Ahzaab (33) 56: Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to
do so]. O you who have believed, ask [ Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [ Allah to
grant him] peace.

َ ‫ضى َع َلي‬
‫ْك َوِإ َّن ُه‬ َ ‫ك َت ْقضِ ي َوالَ ُي ْق‬ َ ‫ْت ِإ َّن‬
َ ‫ضي‬ َ ‫اركْ لنا فِي َما َأعْ َطي‬
َ ‫ْت َوقِنا َشرَّ َما َق‬ َ ‫ْت َو َت َولَّنا فِي َمنْ َت َولَّي‬
ِ ‫ْت َو َب‬ َ ‫اللَّ ُه َّم اهْ دِنا فِي َمنْ َهدَ ي‬
َ ‫ْت َو َعافِنا فِي َمنْ َعا َفي‬
‫ْت‬َ ‫ت َر َّب َنا َو َت َعا َلي‬َ ‫ار ْك‬ َ ‫الَ َي ِذ ُّل َمنْ َوا َلي‬
َ ‫ْت َت َب‬

O Allah, guide us with those whom You have guided, grant us well-being among those You have
granted well-being, be an ally to us along with those whom You are an ally to, and bless what
You have bestowed upon us, and save us from the evil of what You have decreed. For verily
You decree and none can decree over You. He whom You support can never be humiliated.
Glory is to You, our Lord, You are Blessed and Exalted.

ُ ‫ان َوِإي َتا ِء ذِي ْالقُرْ َب ٰى َو َي ْن َه ٰى َع ِن ْال َفحْ َشا ِء َو ْالمُن َكر َو ْال َب ْغي َيع‬ ‫ْأ‬
َ ‫ِظ ُك ْم َل َعلَّ ُك ْم َت َذ َّكر‬
‫ُون‬ ِ ِ ِ ‫عِ َبادَ هّللا ِ ِإنَّ هَّللا َ َي ُم ُر ِب ْال َع ْد ِل َواِإْلحْ َس‬

Servants of Allah. Indeed, Allah orders justice and good conduct and giving to relatives and
forbids immorality and bad conduct and oppression. He admonishes you that perhaps you will
be reminded.

ّ ‫مْر ُك ْم َم ْخ َرجً ا َوَأق ِِم ال‬‫َأ‬ ْ ْ

‫صاَل ة‬ ِ ْ‫اُذ ُكرُوا هَّللا َ ْال َعظِ ي َم َيذ ُكرْ ُك ْم وا ْش ُكرُوهُ َي ِز ْد ُك ْم واسْ َت ْغ ِفرُوهُ َي ْغفِرْ ل ُك ْم وا ّتقُوهُ َيجْ َع ْل َل ُك ْم مِن‬
Remember Allah, the Great – He will remember you. Thank Him for His favors – He will
increase you therein. And seek forgiveness from Him – He will forgive you. And be conscious of
Him – He will provide you a way out of difficult matters. And, establish the prayer.
