Lesson Plan Lexis - Erfan Akbary
Lesson Plan Lexis - Erfan Akbary
Introduce the target language for describing personality traits. Write some
sample sentences on the board such as "He's very outgoing" or "She's quite shy".
Elicit the form of the target language from the students, i.e. the use of the "be"
verb and adjectives to describe personality traits.
Provide the students with controlled practice by giving them sentence
completion exercises to complete with the correct form of the target language.
For example, "She is very _____" (outgoing, shy, etc.).
Monitor the students as they complete the exercises and provide feedback as
necessary.
Have the students work in pairs to ask and answer questions about personality
traits using the target language. For example, "Is your favorite celebrity outgoing
or shy?"
Provide feedback on the students' use of the target language.
Provide the students with a set of role-play cards with descriptions of different
celebrities and their personality traits.
Instruct the students to work in pairs and take turns acting as different celebrities,
using the target language to describe their personality traits to their partner.
Monitor the students as they complete the activity and provide feedback as
necessary.
Instruct the students to imagine they are at a party with their favorite celebrities
and they have to describe their celebrity to a friend, using the target language to
describe their personality traits.
Monitor the students as they complete the activity and provide feedback as
necessary.
