LESSON 5 Activity

In 8 – 10 sentences what are the effects of words not carefully used in communication?

Words are powerful tools that can either build or destroy relationships. When words are not carefully used in
communication, the effects can be devastating. Misunderstandings, hurt feelings, and damaged relationships are just a
few of the consequences of careless language. One of the most significant effects of words not carefully used in
communication is misunderstandings. When we fail to choose our words carefully, we risk being misunderstood by our
listeners. This can lead to confusion and frustration on both sides, which can ultimately damage the relationship.

Another effect of careless language is hurt feelings. Words have the power to uplift or tear down others. When
we use harsh or insensitive language, we risk hurting those around us and damaging their self-esteem. Lastly, careless
language can lead to damaged relationships. Words have a lasting impact on how people perceive us and how they feel
about us. If we consistently use careless language with those around us, it will eventually erode trust and respect in our
relationships.

In conclusion, words have a profound impact on our lives and the lives of those around us. We must choose
them wisely if we want to build strong relationships based on mutual understanding and respect.
