INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

1. Use all personal protective equipment deemed necessary by HSES Department according
to the work being performed.
2. Inspect and maintain your personal protective equipment before each use, ensuring it is in
good/sound condition. Remember that you are responsible for the inspection, cleanliness,
preservation, and maintenance of the provided equipment. Replace any damaged
equipment with a new one after consulting your supervisor.
3. Ensure that your hard hat has a chin strap and use it when working in areas with high winds,
at heights, in confined spaces, or in non-vertical positions.
4. When working at heights, always wear a full-body harness type of safety harness.
5. In areas without guardrails or in work areas with a risk of falling, use the safety rope
(lanyard) of your safety harness by attaching it to a suitable anchorage point or "life line."
6. Do not use your protective equipment for purposes other than its intended use.
7. Do not work in civilian shoes and clothing.
8. Do not work with muddy or oily boots. Clean them to prevent slipping.
9. Pay attention to keeping the laces of your protective boots tied.
10. Do not remove the steel toe from your boots.
11. Use a personal protective mask with true protective properties and, if necessary, respiratory
equipment when performing welding, oxygen cutting, drilling with slag, or jobs requiring
external ventilation.
12. If you wear prescription glasses, always wear protective goggles on top of them.
13. Do not use protective goggles without side shields.
14. Do not observe welding processes performed by others with the naked eye.
15. When working with sharp, pointed, hot, etc., materials, always use protective gloves.
16. Wear rubber or insulated gloves when working with electricity or corrosive substances such
as acids or alkalis.
17. Clean your gloves from oil.
18. Pay attention to ensure that your gloves are not torn or worn out.
19. Use earplugs or earmuffs when working in noisy environments (above 80 decibels (dB)) or
with noisy machinery and equipment.
20. When using ear protectors, be attentive to cranes and warnings, as they may impair
hearing.
21. Do not work with torn, loose, baggy, or greasy clothing.

22. Use insulated gloves and shoes when working with electricity.
23. For head protection: Wear a hard hat in construction tasks where there is a risk of falling
hard objects such as tools, construction materials, scaffold parts, plastering, scaffolding
assembly and dismantling, trenching, digging holes and foundations, loading and unloading
with cranes, transportation, loading, and stacking, steel assembly.
24. For eye protection: Use protective goggles or face masks when performing tasks involving
particles, welding/cutting, working with spiral motors, cutting iron, removing bolts and rivets,
spraying, crushing/drilling concrete, bricks, and stones, working with compressed air,
abrasive and corrosive paints, painting, working with abrasive, corrosive, and toxic
substances, or using a nail gun.
25. For hand protection: Use suitable protective gloves when stapling and manually lifting and
carrying objects, cutting, hammering, assembling and disassembling parts with heavy or
sharp edges, cleaning tasks, carrying and cleaning rusty materials, working with electrical
equipment under voltage, working with chemicals, etc. Do not wear gloves when operating
rotating machinery and equipment.
