Instructions

Important Note for Children (under 14) and Seniors (over 79): if you are applying as a family group,
and members of your family are (1) under the age of 14 or over the age of 80, (2) are residents or
citizens of Tunisia or Libya, and (3) have never been denied a visa to the United States, these
individuals do not need a visa appointment or to come in to the Embassy at the time of your
appointment. Please bring their DS-160 and proof of payment for their visa to your visa appointment
(plus their birth certificate in the case of children under the age of 14).

All visitors must be screened prior to entering the Embassy and are subject to inspection via a
walk-through metal detector and a hand-held metal detector.  In addition, please note that you are not
allowed to enter the U.S. Embassy while carrying any of the following items: Cameras, audio/video
cassettes, compact discs, MP3s, floppy disks, laptops, or portable music players; large luggage or
bags; food and liquid items; sealed envelopes or packages; cigarettes, cigars, match boxes, lighters;
sharp objects such as scissors, pen knives or nail files; weapons or explosive materials of any kind.
This list is not exhaustive. Other items may be prohibited at the discretion of security staff.There is no
facility at the U.S. Embassy to store prohibited items. You must make arrangements to store these
items before entering.  However, visitors may store small mobile phone and small purses or handbags
at the Embassy security check-point.
 
Applicants can arrive up to one hour before the time of their interview.

photo that meets these standards:

Taken within the last 6 months
Colored photo (no black & white)
White/light background
Full face towards the camera
No colored eye contacts

No eye glasses
Please note that a photobooth is available at the U.S. Embassy waiting room that offers
appropriate visa application photos for a cost of 6 TND for four (4) pictures.
