3. DES CRIPTION
This instruction describes the different types of signage and protections to place in projects owned or
built by ACCIONA Energy.
This signage affects wind and photovoltaic installations and the following areas:
- Accesses, roads and platforms
- Ditches,
- Substations (outdoor Park, control rooms and cells),
- Wind turbines,
- Meteorological towers,
All printed or computer copies of this document not hosted in ACCIONA systems are considered NON-CONTROLLED.
- Substation,
- Etc…
In the event that there is more than one official language applicable in the area, all signage must be in
all official languages applicable.
(Except copies explicitly stamped as CONTROLLED COPY)
The purpose of this point is to describe the type and location of the signage that must be installed
in a wind farm during the construction phase.
The purpose of signage is to draw attention to risk situations in a quick and easily understandable
way, in addition to improving the information for user orientation.
In no case replaces preventive measures.

The delimitation of the work areas to which access may eventually be restricted,
Units: in which circumstances do not advise or make it impossible to use physical
barriers, will be carried out using “Black and Yellow” or “White and Red” bands.
Characteristics: wide and 0.4 mm. thick, resistant to the action of acids, and must remain stable
with variations in environmental temperature.
(Except copies explicitly stamped as CONTROLLED COPY)
The delimitation of the work areas to which the passage may eventually be
Units:
restricted, will be carried out by metal fencing.
They will be rigid, made of 1" steel tube on the outer frame and 1/2" or 3/8" on
the inner bars. They will be provided with male-female hooks at both ends, so
that they can be joined each other safely.
Characteristics:
The legs can be removable or fixed, in both cases made of a cold-rolled U-profile
or similar (steel tube, steel tube and flat bars, etc.). They will have approximate
measures of 2500 m/m. length by 1000 mm. high (minimum 900 mm.).
During the execution of the trenches in the work and until the trench is fully executed, the following
signage will be installed:
It will be placed along the trench, on the side of the road that is adjacent to the
trench and at a minimum distance of 60 cm from the edge of the trench slope.
Units: In the case of cross-country ditches, they will be placed along the ditch on both
sides of the same and at a minimum distance of 60 cm from the edge of the ditch

Characteristics:
Plastic marking tape, 8 cm wide, printed on both sides in yellow and black stripes,
attached to corrugated steel bar supports 1.2 m long and 16 mm in diameter,
driven into the land every 3.00 m, used as signaling and delimitation of the edges
of ditches.
The signage that must be placed for the identification of buried facilities (gas pipes, oil pipelines,
water, etc.), is as follows:
Signaling for the identification of existing buried facilities (gas pipes, oil pipelines,
Description:
water, etc...)
It will be placed along the path of the pipeline. In the event of intersections with
Units: project roads, these channelings must be identified by means of identification
supports.
All printed or computer copies of this document not hosted in ACCIONA systems are considered NON-CONTROLLED.
In the case of gas, oil or water pipelines that cross project lands where
excavations or support piling have to be undertaken, they must be marked by
signage "RISK OF PIPELINES" and must be marked by mesh or signaling tape on
Characteristics: both sides of the route of the pipeline to prevent any operator or machinery from
accessing the pipeline area.

allowed and will have transverse red and white stripes.
The gauge control gantry will be made of high visibility reflective material.
Signaling of the maximum height of the gauge control portal by means of
a sign with dimensions φ 600 mm with an indication of the maximum
measurement allowed. This height will be in accordance with safety
distances according to the voltage of the overhead line.
Each gauge control gate will be placed at a minimum distance of 50 m
from the power line.
A gauge control gantry will be placed on each side of the power line to be
protected.
As a general criterion and unless a business or local instruction specifies something more restrictive,
the following speed limits will be respected within the ACCIONA Energy Division facilities:
• Heavy vehicles: 20 km/h
• Vehicles with a trailer: 20 km/h
• Light vehicles: 40 km/h (unless there is a local restriction of lower speed)
In case of adverse conditions (rain, fog, snow), the maximum speed is reduced to half of the maximum
