Answer the following questions:

1. Why is the study of environmental science important to your everyday life?

− For me, it’s vital for everyone to be able to learn and understand environmental
science as it composes our ecosystems. The people around the world should join
hands to ensure the safety and longevity of life on our planet. There are
environmental problems that will only be solved if every one of us advocates and
do our part to combat such problems like global warming and depletion of ozone
layer.

2. How do ecology and environmental science differ?

− Both ecology and environmental science deal with nature, but ecology
specifically, is the study of the living organisms and their relationships. While
environmental science deals with the much bigger picture of nature, which
scopes over the living things and the whole environment we live in.

3. How do you cause environmental degradation as a result of the Tragedy of

the Commons?
− There are various ways in which the people are unknowingly participating or
causing the depletion of resources. As a person, I think one of the ways that I
participated in environmental degradation is through over consumption of some
food resources.

4. Name some environmental problems.

− As previously mentioned, global warming and depletion of the ozone layer are
some of the environmental problems that our world faces. Due to these reasons,
large amounts of glaciers have been reported to be melted over the past years.
